Went on Sunday, 9/28 for wife's neck and head pain. Total time was 8 hours from check in to discharge. Triage and bloodwork was within 1 hr of check in. Time to see provider was about 5.5 hours. Dr. Hover was good, felt like he thought through his answers and wasn't on autopilot and trying to rush through the evaluation, sent wife for CT. Time to get CT, results, and provider reponse on results was about 2.5 hours. RN Natalie was great, super friendly and welcoming. Hospital felt a run down but it beats a 16-20 wait with other EDs just to see a provider

TL;DR I strongly advise AGAINST going here if your insurance allows you to go elsewhere. We went to Medstar health ER today, same day, and received 1000000x better service, and care. I came today at ~11 am because my friend had a hamstring injury and was in extreme pain and discomfort. I had to wheel him into the er room with a wheel chair, and afterwards we were not seen for over an hour (understandable). Upon being seen (by the triage nurse), he began to feel nauseous and told this to the triage nurse who was rolling him out and said nurse disregarded him and said "you’re fine, just sit up you’re making yourself nauseous." and shortly after this my friend vomited all over himself and the nurse called for a code green in the ER lobby 6 times and nobody came. In the meantime (2 1/2 hours), he was sitting in the room with vomit on himself, the wheelchair, and the floor. Nurses & such were just casually walking past with no regard for his condition. Afterwards, we were finally able to go back and had to wait for an additional 45 minutes before actually going in a room followed by an additional 30 minutes of waiting, the PA came in and did some basic mobility exams and such and despite us being previously informed of have preliminary examinations like an MRI, Ultrasound, and X-ray completed to assess the injury, AND even being given crutches since my friend can barely walk, the PA determined that it's simply sprained and told us to get Tylenol and Motrin from a nearby pharmacy I.e CVS. I also mentioned during this process to include an exemption note for work, school, etc, which was not done. There was so little care and regard for his health and our time that it made the entire experience something that could've been in 20 minutes over a phone call. But rather it was a 5-6 hour process. Anyways, after leaving that place with basically no help, we went to medstar health in Baltimore, and the service and treatment was a night and day difference. We were seen MUCH faster despite the amount of waiting patients in the lobby being similar, there was much more regard for his condition (the security guard came to my car and brought the wheel chair from pure awareness alone, I didn't even have to ask), and we were seen by a nurse, doctor, and orthopedic doctor all within the span of 2 hours. They did the x-ray as well, did mobility checks, and are scheduling an MRI. In addition to providing a prescription for crutches and medication. I know now to NEVER return to St Joseph ER as this was my FIRST and LAST visit ever.

I came in for feeling septic, having back pains, ans extreme skin burning from excess, following my primary doctor's orders was to go get blood work and treatment from the er, this was the worst experience with a doctor i have ever had, he didn't ask but forced his opinions, over talked me which was extremely rude and unprofessional, told me he was gonna perform test but when I talked to the nurse about his actions, whom was very nice and did a great job, he discharged me, never came back to check after I didn't a stool sample and another urine sample, I am still in pain and dizzy on my way to another hospital, I haven't slept i 4 days because of the pain and infection, please don't go to this hospital if you want results.
