Once they finished their tests and determined I was a candidate, they started talking price. This is is where they lost me. There was talk of "special deals" going on "right now" and "I can get you this" and "Oh, your prize of $1000 off doesn't apply to this deal." Once they got to a price I didn't flinch at they wanted to schedule the surgery right away. Which I did, because I knew there would be pressure if I didn't. They gave me no documentation on the price, no paperwork, and made no mention of any risks or possible complications. I went home and did some more research. The company has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and a slew of bad reviews online. After thinking it over I came to the conclusion that I'm comfortable with getting a super-value-one-time-only-special-discount-rate for a mattress but not for my eyeballs. I cancelled my appointment with LVI and went off a referral from a friend to LasikPlus Vision. Totally different experience. No sales pitches, no pressure, they made me fully aware of any possible side-effects or complications, they gave me a detailed print out of the costs at my first appointment. It wound up being only slightly more than the verbal quote I was given at LVI. I just had my procedure done and everything is amazing. I couldn't be happier. Today, I got an email "confirmation" for an appointment at LVI. I never made an appointment. They're closed on Mondays so I'll have to call tomorrow and deal with it but this was just more confirmation for me that this place is just shady.
