DO NOT COME HERE ALONE! Have someone who will advocate for you! The hospital’s treatment of other patients is why two star’s are taken off. DOCTOR: Dr. Bauer is the best! Do NOT change from under his care! The medical field is definitely his calling in life :) NURSES: I had to hunt down nurses for other patients because their’s could not be found for HOURS! One patient was screaming for help so long, I went and checked on them myself. They were left lying in their own urine and feces for over 5 hours and their nurse did not respond to the caller at all. You could smell the stench from the hallway! Another patient was not fed for over 18 hours and physically in pain as a result of this on-top of their illness. Nurses forgot to remove the restriction from their profile which they did ONLY after I hunted them down and pressured them to do so. However, the nurses I’ve seen working with my relative were ANGELS! Very attentive, cheerful, and humorous. Other patients nurses were horrible and need to be stripped of their license! FACILITY: The facility was always kept clean during my visits. Security ensured that people weren’t lingering inside who were not patients/family. All elevators were operational. The recovery rooms are large and all equipment within were functional. FOOD: THIS is where the budget goes! UMC’s food is top tier! Restaurant quality! A dietitian visited each room and built all three meals with each patient via a tablet.

I was transported via ambulance with symptoms that could have been a heart attack or stroke. I was never triaged, not so much as a BP was taken. The EMTs who brought me in were told to take me to the waiting room because there were no beds. I sat in the waiting room, barely able to stand, in excruciating pain for about an hour and a half. When my family member arrived, I asked them to take me somewhere else; I did not want anyone there to touch me. To my surprise, I got a bill in the mail for $100 and a notice that my insurance was billed and paid over $400, when I NEVER received treatment. I reviewed the notes in the Mychart portal that stated that I was examined; stating things like "no focal deficit, skin warm and dry" ????? Seriously??? This is insurance fraud, and I will be pursuing this further.

If I had the option to give 0 stars, I would. They have no idea how to treat people. This is a HOSPITAL!!! Treat people with more empathy. Let's leave racism out of the hospital. It shouldn't exist there. We all get sick, regardless of the color of our skin. I hope management trains its staff better, especially the front desk staff. LEST’S BE BETTER PEOPLE !!

Listen this has got to be the absolute worse hospital EVER!!! however we did get a few nurses who actually cared( nurse hawkins on the 8th floor) but let me tell yall you cant say one thing about this place to anybody and the response not be omg yesss it is the worse!!!! If you have a choice go to doctors hospital or somewhere else because our experience was absolute hell!! One day my husband was left unattended for 7 hours no water no food no check in. They discharged him to a rehab ( and shouldn't have) only for him to end up right back there. The nurses that are of African descent have noooo bedside manner( im sorry to say this as a black woman) they are rude and have no compassion. I have never experienced such horrible Healthcare in my entire life. Watching how patients are treated is absolutely disgusting!! I can completely understand why this hospital has a 1.9 rating because it is just horrible!!
