I almost never write reviews and when I do it’s only because I’ve had an experience that I just don’t think that people can get anywhere else. Consequently, although I’m not yet finished with my treatment program—and will provide an update when I am—my experience at Align Physical Therapy so far has been so outstanding that I just couldn’t wait to post a review. I’ve previously been in physical therapy with 3 other providers over the last 4 years—at 2 large chains and at 1 well respected institution in Delaware—and had repeatedly hit the same wall, had major setbacks when that happened, and had my overall physical condition deteriorate over time in the process. So, I came to Align with multiple issues in play. And what I’ve found there is a combination of everything that was good about all of my other providers, as well as correctives for what wasn’t—along with additional positive aspects of treatment that those previous providers did not, and could not, offer because of their treatment models and philosophies as well. All of this became apparent pretty much from day one: 1) Both my initial evaluation by Dr. Josh Harmon (also one of Align’s owners) and my first meeting with Clinic Director Lindsey Meyer were the best initial PT meetings I have had to date. They were careful, considered, and incredibly thorough (not rushed or mostly based on filling out pages and pages of forms containing a-e or 1-5 multiple choice questions). And they included some time for treatment at the end too. 2) Your treatment plan is personalized and tailored to your specific injuries and to your body’s responses to them. As a consequence, that plan is so much more than just a predetermined set of stretches/exercises performed both in the clinic and at home. 3) When appropriate, a wide variety of modalities are used in the treatment plans. During my first two visits, for example, four modalities were administered to very good effect—and none of them had ever been administered or even suggested by any of my previous providers. And those modalities are now a regular part of my treatment routine. 4) Treatment is based on Align’s 1:1 philosophy, which is based on its commitment to having one physical therapist treat one patient exclusively for one entire hour at every single appointment. This allows for the kind of personal observation of, attention to, familiarity with, and investment in treatment—both during each single visit and over time—that the now typical model of having a lead therapist passing patients to their assistants simply can’t accommodate. 5) And, finally, the administrative staff is easily accessible to patients, communicates well and super pleasantly with them, and there are open lines of communication between the administrative staff and the therapists also. This substantially minimizes the kinds of administrative glitches that can result in being unable to schedule appointments and interfere with treatment. So, for instance, clients can talk directly with the person who submits their insurance claims—and, what’s more, that person is someone who has years of experience along those lines too. All in all, then, Align Physical Therapy is a hidden gem. It provides thoughtful, caring, and personalized physical therapy that focuses on, and is guided by, the right and most effective therapy for you and your body (rather than a narrow range of options that is limited by cookie-cutter systems of patient processing based on economies of scale). And it does so in a warm and friendly environment that minimizes patient stress and maximizes the expertise/ resources necessary for healing and recovery.

I have received phenomenal care at Align. The staff is caring, professional, and personable. I've been struggling with chronic back pain and tightness and after 6 weeks of therapy I have seen significant improvement. I especially appreciate the additional therapies offered such as body work and aquatic therapy because along with the PT, these have made a world of difference. Lindsey and Zach are wonderful, caring individuals and I can't recommend this practice enough!
