Per the receptionist the earliest appointment available would be in April. I will now need to find a new eye doctor!

When we arrived, the receptionist rolled her eyes and said the appointment was cancelled because the doctor, Dr. Asifa Shafi, is “new” and supposedly not covered by our insurance. This was a complete lie — and on top of that, they didn’t have the courtesy to call ahead and inform me. We were left waiting until the last minute only to be turned away. This is the second time this office has done this. Their lack of professionalism, honesty, and basic respect for patients is unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere! She spends plenty of time with her patients to make sure they understand everything and that all of their questions are answered. She is a very kind lady. The low rating is due to the front office staff. They refuse to listen to the patient and use the appropriate insurance for my visits. The insist on billing to an old insurance every single time I go and I end up with a balance for non-coverage. Getting them to re-submit the bill to the correct insurance is a nightmare and I wish Dr. Munir worked for another practice so I could see her elsewhere. Please be extremely attentive when it comes to your insurance and their billing practices.
