Mom (64)lost her ability to walk, called ambulance, they came, checked her vitals, they were good. Was told she should come to the hospital and be evaluated. ER doctor says she's painful, which was quite obvious. He gives her a Tord injection (Motrin) which is mildly helpful and offers oxycotten. Which she declined. Highly addictive medication. Its most likely because she has state insurance. Three weeks later, still can't walk, but we're getting closer to getting some answers...I think.
You know, it's so scary and so sad to see a loved one go through this. Losing their ability to be self efficient. Scrambling around to get wheel chair, portable toilet, will have to build a wheel chair ramp to enter/exit the house. Many decisions to take place. Just trying to get answers and a medical plan set in place with pain management for sudden changes. The support and security of being in good hands, is needed in times like these. To trust your healthcare team, their here to help...right.
Fingers crossed someone is going to help us. Our P.A has been pretty good. Were headed to brain and spine doctor next.

I was in the emergency room for pneumonia back in November, the nurses are extremely rude and ignorant and the doctors were very negative, they had to send me out to the hospital in Easton claiming that they didn't have the resources to treat me and they no longer have an ICU, the hospital in Easton is way better I think they should close down that awful hospital

Registration for outpatient and the lab gives glacial pace a whole new meaning. The person typing on the computer works at a pace that makes one wonder if it is the first time using modern, I mean 1980s, technology.

I had the best experience in this ER last night (6/13/25). I arrived at 3ish AM after having been trying to dislodge a pill that got stuck in my throat at 10:30pm. I had done everything and could barely speak past gasping and sobbing at the front desk. I was immediately seen and given a med that helped me swallow the stuck pill(s). I was a mess as I have significant medical history and I was given excellent care. The nurse and the doctor also made sure I was not in pain when I left due to the soreness of my jaw from the excessive coughing, throwing up, and also throat irritation. I cannot thank the nurse and doctor who cared for me enough. Given that I thought I was going to choke to death on a pill, it was a great ER experience.

Honestly just go somewhere else i almost died because these people don’t know how to look at bloodwork apparently, my platelets were down to 36(dangerously low) and they still sent me home after that I was admitted Into university of Maryland in Baltimore because they went down to 6, I was 2 days away from dying then the other day I went to this hospital twice they did my scans and everything and found “nothing” I go to another hospital cause I’m still in severe pain and they tell me what the problem is and ask me why chestertown hospital didn’t tell me the problem because it was on their scan like do the doctors not know how to read scans or something? Not to mention they stuck me 6 times for an iv and I’ve been told by many nurses that I have great veins. It just sad other hospitals talk about how bad this hospital is and how rude the other nurses were just save your time and money and go somewhere that will actually help you
