I've been trying to reach a family member who was taken to Maryland general by ambulance.. calling for 2 days and still have not spoken to anyone... Tried patient advocacy and other options... The best thing I heard from the main desk was "I can't make 3 North answer the phone"... Now how unprofessional this experience has been...

The staff who answered the phone for me today were very rude! They don’t let you complete your sentence on why you’re calling before rudely putting you on hold.. I’m just trying to get a update on my mom who was admitted there and I haven’t heard from a nurse or anyone since she’s been there as of last night. Then they gave me a room number that’s not in service smh... I’ve was rudely placed on hold for almost 30 mins now..

YOU CAN NO LONGER FIND MY REVIEW ON GOOGLE REGARDING THIS FACILITY "Maryland General Hospital" As for this poor woman, GOD Bless her and I hope that some how or some way an attorney with COMPASSION grabs hold of this and has this Lady sitting pretty for the rest of her life. Our family has documentation of the lack of real care and how poorly ran this facility really is. TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO HEAR is the philosophy of the staff then when you leave nothing of which was stated happens except the constant badgering for insurance information. I have forms where my brother was to sign his name but being he was not quit aware of what they were talking about, he put his address there. I was told that he shook his head yes when asked if he understood what he was signing. Incompetent-I brought this to their attention! THIS IS MY PAST REVIEW OF THIS FACILITY FOR WHICH I AM NOT SURPRISED BY THE ACTIONS OF THE STAFF ON THIS HELPLESS LADY.
BY THE WAY, IF YOU SEND SOMEONE A CARD OR FLOWERS, MAKE SURE THEY RECEIVED THEM BY GOING THERE!
Pictures taken of the room in the Post Acute Specialty Program 6th floor in January 2017 but as of July 2017 nothing had changed.
8/15/2017-UPDATE: My Brother is no longer with us, he died at this facility. If you care about your loved one, do what ever it takes to keep them from being placed in the Post Acute Specialty Program-6th Floor! The pictures I have of the rooms where patients are on respirators would make you cringe. If you have no other choice, then visit your loved one as much as possible to make sure they are really being cared for. If your lucky, you may get one of only two sitters that really cared about my bothers care. We came to visit my brother and found him in a state of almost full unconsciousness, the sitter thought he was asleep? It took the staff 45 minutes to get him into ICU-that was May my brother passed in July.
My brother is now at what they call a hospital for rehab. It has to be the dirtiest, over neglected facility in the state of Maryland. You cannot even see out of the windows for the dirt and the window shades either don't work or are falling down. Forget air condition, fans running everywhere. The vents to the air conditioner are filthy as well. It is suppose to be a rehab facility but I feel you will need rehab after you leave. Wipe your feet on the way out. I truly feel for the people that live in this area who HAVE to depend on this hospital for medical care. Insurance is probably the reason most people are sent here, not the care for which you are told but to cut down on expenses. Shame on whoever is in charge of this facility. I don't think even the health department bothers to check this place out. GOD Bless the neighboring community that relies on this hospital (and I use this term loosely) for medical care. HAD TO GIVE ONE STARE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT LEAVE IT BLANK!
