Rushed care and lack of follow-up after ICP diagnosis
I’m still processing how my last delivery was handled. I was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) with a bile acid level of 21, which falls into the mild to moderate range. Despite this, I was induced without any repeat testing or further monitoring. The induction failed and resulted in an unplanned C-section.
After doing more research, I’ve learned that bile acid levels can fluctuate and that repeat testing is often recommended before making delivery decisions. None of this was discussed with me at the time. I was never retested, and I didn’t feel included in the decision-making process around my care. The experience left me feeling confused, rushed, and disappointed.
I strongly encourage other patients to ask questions, stay informed, and advocate for themselves — especially if complications like ICP arise. Transparency and shared decision-making are essential, and unfortunately, I didn’t feel I received either. Don't go to these doctors if you don't have to! Especially not Dr. Seif or his wife who literally showed me "how easy" with her hands a c-section is for them! CRAZY blood hungry surgeons.

All the staff here are great, but the wait times are unbearable. An average wait time is at least 30 minutes, but I’ve waited up to and over an hour before being seen for my appointment. The management of appointment times is just unacceptable.

I’m literally changing doctors because of this ghetto rude establishment the front desk girls are rude and incompetent this office makes you sit there for an hour before they actually take you to the back as if the parking at university isn’t ridiculously high I had poor experiences here 8 years ago with my first child now on baby number two it’s worse I will never go back to university hospital downtown location ever again !!!!
