We found that TheKey was a good choice for our elderly father. Gloria was a great Homecare person who went over and above doing extra chores and tasks that we asked her to take on. It was greatly appreciated
Would recommend her!

My family and I have been working with TheKey for over two years now. Prior to that, we had employed another agency to care for our aging grandmother. We find that our care manager, Brian, is well equipped to deal with our family's evolving needs. Furthermore, their caregivers seem to be a better match and equipped to deal with some of the more challenging dynamics associated with dementia. I have recommended them to other friends and colleagues who have also been very satisfied.

I would like to compliment the three gentlemen I spoke to in regard to getting help and personal assistance for my brother. They were clear, understanding, and patient with our unique needs. My situation was challenging, in that I was coming in from out of province. I was attempting to get help for someone who did not want help. Dennis and his team did everything I had hoped they would do in an attempt to make this happen. We were not successful at this time however, we had a very thorough and professional interview, at Dennis, Scott and Barry's office, plus a home assessment at a later time. We have a written report that is there for future and medical reference. Great step forward for the family.
Excellent service and I feel genuinely supported. Highly recommend Home Care Assistance.
Frequently Asked Questions About TheKey - Senior Home Care
What is home care?
Home care is a supportive service provided by a professional caregiver in the home or community where a resident lives (in addition to facility supports) for peace of mind, companionship, and personal care. Caregivers can perform tasks such as running errands, preparing meals, assisting in the shower, fall prevention, and initiating brain stimulation activities to stimulate cognitive function.
How do I find the best caregiver for my loved one?
The best caregiver is an experienced professional who has the training and skills to support your loved one’s care needs. It’s also imporatnt to find a caregiver who’s extremely reliable, has back-up if necessary, and is a good fit in terms of personality and shared interests.
How much does home care cost?
Home care is typically billed by the hour, so the cost depends on the number of care hours per week and can vary slightly by region. Most families pay out-of-pocket for their care or use long-term care insurance.
How are you protecting your clients from COVID-19?
We follow infection mitigation best practices and safety protocols, informed by the CDC and local authorities, and provide appropriate PPE to our caregivers. The majority of our caregivers and Care Team members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Is a home care agency better than hiring a private caregiver?
If you value safety, security, and reliability, yes. A quality home care agency is insured and also manages the performance and scheduling of its caregivers, handles billing and payrol, and has back-up caregivers to fill in when needed. With a private hire caregiver, you’re responsible for setting up payroll and withholding taxes, caregiver vetting and background checks, and purchasing sufficient liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries in the home.
