- LZLindsey ZDec 8, 20251.0I want to clarify upfront that this location only offers virtual visits, which I didn’t know beforehand. You never meet with a doctor in person or have anyone physically examine your eyes. As someone who has always seen in-person ophthalmologists, this was extremely disappointing. The equipment used during my visit seemed outdated, and my eye pressure was read incorrectly. I was also given a prescription that ended up being too strong for my eyes. Because of this, I had to take time out of my work week to see a second ophthalmologist in person, who confirmed my eye pressure was actually normal and provided a corrected prescription. On top of that, since my eye insurance had already been billed by Stanton, I had to use my medical insurance at the second location and pay more out of pocket just to make sure I got an accurate exam. Then, to get a proper contacts prescription, I had to schedule yet another appointment with Stanton and wait 48 hours for a virtual doctor to review the new notes and send me a new prescription. At this point I’m out of contacts and I have a marathon to run in less than 7 days. Who knows if I’ll have my contacts by then… Overall, the entire experience was frustrating, inconvenient, and costly. I will not be returning to this location or any Stanton in the future.
