At St. Tammany Health System, we’ve been caring for our Northshore neighbors since our founding in December 1954 as St. Tammany Parish Hospital. A lot has changed in that time, and we’re proud of the technologically advanced regional medical center we’ve grown to become.
Numerous reviews highlighted rude and unprofessional behavior from staff, particularly in the ER and admitting areas.
Care Quality
While some patients reported excellent care, many others experienced negligence and poor treatment, leading to serious concerns about patient safety.
Long Wait Times
Many customers expressed frustration over excessively long wait times in the ER, with some waiting several hours without being seen.
Cleanliness Issues
Several reviews mentioned unsanitary conditions within the hospital, including dirty rooms and bathrooms.
Mixed Experiences
There were contrasting experiences reported, with some praising the care received in specific departments like ICU and labor and delivery, while others had negative experiences in the ER.

If I could leave a - 10 review I would. My 98 year old grandmother was in the hospital for a UTI and was admitted. The treatment she received is unacceptable. After one night in the hospital she was scared to stay alone due to the treatment from nursing staff. Mind you for a 98 year old woman she is in good health and mind. If you are a nurse and don’t like your job please find a new one. There is no reason my sweet 98 year old grandmother should be shaking from fear of a nursing staff. SHAME on you for treating a sweet 98 old lady the way you did. I would never trust this hospital with any of my love ones in the future. And if you have a loved one here please move them.

My husband was brought in by ambulance, his vitals were taken & they wheeled him into the waiting area because they were out of beds in ER. After 4 hours they brought him in the back ran some tests & said he was fine & sent him home. HE HAD A STROKE and they didn't even do an MRI. He died 10 days later.
