Today I took my 4 week old son in for concerns with tummy issues that I suspected were related to food allergies. We were unfortunately seen by Dr. David Hawse out of necessity, as we couldn’t get in with our regular pediatrician. After expressing our concerns about our son throwing up after his feeds, Dr. David Hawse asked me if I had a burp cloth. I told him I had one and he proceeded to tell me that means there are burp cloth factories and they wouldn’t exist if babies didn’t spit— completely dismissing my concerns with potential food allergies.

Will not accept new patients with Medicaid. Shame on them. Also, the reviews on their website are fake/ filtered cause I tried leaving a review and it never showed up.

I liked the doctors for the most part, but their billing practices, billing department, office manager, and director have serious issues. When I first brought my son to them I was in the process of getting him on my Humana plan which Humana had asked me just to have them bill and they would cover it. However, because I did not have a card with my son's name on it they refused to do so and the billing department was very rude about this and refused to let me leave the office if I did not pay the bill. The office manager said to me "maybe you should just go apply for Medicaid." I ended up having to call my HR department who then called the office manger while I was standing there to inform them that I most definitely had insurance and they were out of line. My problems with the billing department did not end there. Every time I went for a well-child check which are free I was billed a co-pay after the fact. When I tried to find out why they told me because I had other issues. The other issues one time was as simple as I asked about what I could do about my son's dry skin. I ended up talking to the office manager who told me to go someplace else if I didn't like the way they did things. She then mailed me a release of information. I attempt to speak to her supervisor who said the same thing. So obviously they have way too many patients so choose another Pediatrician because Commonwealth doesn't need any patients.
