About

Medical Service Organization
Beacon Health System currently has visitor restrictions in place for our hospitals and outpatient centers to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 (coronavirus) to our patients. Get the most up-to-date restrictions on our website. Beacon Health System provides care to more than 4,000 patients each day in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. As a not-for-profit, community-governed health system, we target an annual operating income of 4% from our operations. This operating income balances the healthcare needs of the community with the ability to reinvest in the facilities, equipment and talented clinical providers. The accumulated earnings are managed through an investment committee of our volunteer Board and guided by an investment policy which the committee approves and monitors. This is done to obtain financial returns that are then directed back into the organization and community to improve the overall health of the communities we serve and to ensure long-term viability of healthcare for the region.

Service at the location was great when it was borgess. 4 months after I was seen I still haven’t been billed. They say they’re still in the process. Coming up on year end where my FSA is about to expire and I can’t pay the bill. They also make you wait for 5 minutes before an operator directs you to the department you’re calling for then another 5-10 minutes in an automated system that asks you if you need to speak with a person 3 desperate times and I get forwarded to a call center with someone who can’t speak English. I understand their limitations as a person but blame the hospital for hiring these people. Now someone in the Middle East needs my SOC and all my personal info in order for me to pay a bill? How is that secure?

I like my Dr. and hope I can keep her. However Beacon health is a disaster. Billing is a disaster. If you ask a question about anything other than what you're scheduled for, you will get a separate bill for outpatient services. They will do everything to make sure you pay more than you need to. Run away from Beacon health

Beacon Health Billing and Three Rivers Health Billing (who Beacon acquired during my treatment) is terrible at customer service and providing accurate billing. I went to wound care treatment for about 4 months from May to August of 2024. When they finally started billing me in September they billed me over $15,000 worth of charges never giving me an estimate up front or telling me how much each appointment would cost even though I asked multiple times. The worst part about my bills is that I am being double and triple billed for my appointments, but NO ONE in Three Rivers or Beacon Health Billing will research this for me. They just keep charging me. They have even billed me for the discount that my health savings plan (I don't have health insurance) made them take off my bill. The latest is that I get monthly calls telling me that my bill is overdue when the payment is schedule to come out automatically and HAS been coming out automatically. Yet they continue to call me and tell me that my bill is over due. Three Rivers Beacon Billing was supposed to be checking into charges on my bill and told me they would get back with me about those charges. Instead of contacting me about those, they turned me over to medical collections for the amounts that were double billed and they were supposed to be checking into. They are also trying to charge me for the amount my health savings plan made them discount my bill. I am also still receiving bills which I can prove are duplicates a year after my treatment, but no one in billing will look at my account and see they are double and triple billed. They will only offer to move my bill to a payment plan. I feel like I can't go to the doctor or have any medical things checked out because they are going to charge me astronomical rates and continue to bill me for what I have already paid for. THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING TO REACH OUT TO YOU TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO. MY MOST RECENT CALL TO PATIENT ACCOUNTS WAS 6/25/25 AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RETURN CALL. I CONTINUE TO REACH OUT, CONTINUE TO ASK ABOUT BEING DOUBLE AND TRIPLE BILLED, TURNED OVER TO COLLECTIONS, AND FOR AN ITEMIZED LISTING OF ALL MY BILLS (WHICH I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR SINCE SEPTEMBER 2024) AND I CONTINUE GETTING THE ANSWER YOU HAVE TO TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE OR WE CAN ADD THAT TO YOUR PAYMENT PLAN. I WOULD LOVE TO GET HELP AND SOMEONE THAT WILL ACTUALLY LOOK INTO MY CASE.
