I am beyond frustrated!!!! I have been going to Grove Dental for well over 12 years. I love my hygienist and Dr. Crowe was good. However, since Grove Dental was sold there has been a big difference in the customer service provided to the patients. This central scheduling is a nightmare. Today, I have had just about enough and I am looking for a new dentist. This is what set me over the edge....yesterday I received a call from the dental office in Wheaton informing me that my hygienist was only going to be working on Mondays as she found a job closer to home and that my appointment on Friday was being cancelled. I requested to have the hygienist call me as I wanted to know who she would recommend I see and if it didn't work out I wanted to ask her where she was going so I could follow her. No call back - I don't believe they even gave her my message, I called twice more during the day and was not able to reach the office but left 2 messages for the office to call me - no call back, I tried 6 more times after work to no avail and once I was hung up on. This morning I called at 8a and got attitude from one woman at central scheduling, they drill you for reasons why you want to be transferred, beyond unacceptable, she kept me on hold for over 10 minutes, I finally call back and another lady answers and gets me through to the office. I speak with the woman in billing. I tell her about my aggravating experience with central scheduling...no response...I tell her I am calling regarding my appointment for a cleaning and that I would like the hygienist to call me next Monday when she is in regarding who she'd recommend I see. It was like talking to a brick wall, she refused to acknowledge my request, never showed any empathy regarding my aggravating experience with central scheduling, stated the hygienist would be too busy to call and kept offering up another hygienist. I finally had enough and told her to close my file I will be going elsewhere. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is horrible what the new owners have turned this dental practice into....simply a money making machine.

Had what I would consider the most lousy experience I've ever had at a dentist in my whole life. I had my appointment scheduled 6 months in advanced like you regularly would. When I arrived for my appointment I was told that the new dental doctor was "on vacation" and I would only be getting a cleaning. Never have I just had a cleaning without seeing the Dr. The hygienist was great but the experience overall just felt extremely off. I have to say it was not a great first experience since Dr. Kosko retired. Will be considering possibly switching dentists.

I was a new patient at the Wheaton office. The initial teeth cleaning went well, the hygienist was super friendly and I felt they thoroughly covered all bases. However, when I returned to fill a cavity a couple weeks later, this practice felt much more like a money grab and less like they cared for patients’ needs. Ten minutes into my appointment, I was told that Dr. Crow was running 20 minutes behind, but I’d still be done within the allotted hour-long appointment (My babysitter could only stay with my kids until a certain time). After waiting 30-minutes, I asked the assistant how timing was looking, and once she spoke to Dr. Crow, it was apparent that they wouldn’t be starting for another 30-minutes. When I told her I couldn’t stay because of my babysitter, Dr. Crow came and spoke to me. He did apologize but basically said this is to be expected because he’s the only one in the office who can fill a cavity until someone new comes in at the end of the month and there were 4 hygienists that day so he had to do more exams. I asked if I should expect this wait time for my second cavity fill next week and he said yes. I’m not sure why they are scheduling people if they don’t have the staff? Basically, I’ll be going somewhere they respect my time a little more.

Grove Dental is not what it used to be. I drive 45 minutes to come here because I love my hygienist. However the last two visits for cleanings they had no dentist in the office that day to perform the exam. This last time I was not even notified prior to my appointment. They expect me to come back at a separate time now for X-rays and exam by a dentist. Office staff didn’t even really seem to care when I shared my concerns. I think it’s time for me to find a new dentist closer to home.
