- SHSusan HNov 13, 20255.0We found Home Instead several months ago after my 93 y/o father was hospitalized. He was living in Assisted Living and needed additional observation. We found out he was eligible for a VA companion benefit and Home Instead was able to provide care. Our first care companion was Taylor and she was with my dad from late April until he passed in October. My dad suffered a horrible fall in August and we needed additional companions. We were approved for more VA time. We had two additional care companions Emma and Jessica. All three companions were the BEST. My dad had been pretty independent his whole life so it was a little difficult for him to accept outside help. Our care companions became part of our family. They were the best...my dad became very close to each one. We thank them for their love, care and support. They were with him until his end.
