Core Physical Therapy was established in 1999 and has grown to 18 specialized physical therapists serving patients in Adel and West Des Moines. Our team brings extensive experience and advanced training in manual therapy techniques including craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and visceral mobilization. Our therapists share a strong foundation in chronic pain management, which extends across each area of our practice. Building on this expertise, our team offers subspecialties that allow us to serve patients across the lifespan. These include pelvic floor health, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, and pediatric care such as infant feeding interventions for tongue and lip ties and torticollis support. Our commitment to individualized care is reflected in one-on-one appointments held in private treatment rooms with a doctor of physical therapy.
Customers consistently praised the knowledge, skills, and personalized care provided by various therapists, particularly highlighting their ability to address complex issues and tailor treatment plans.

I had seen Justin Sherf for my TMJ jaw issues and he was very informative and quick to help resolve the pain I was in. He was very kind and respectful! If I were to have issues down the line, I feel comfortable to reach out again, and confident he’d be able to figure out what was wrong.

I came to CORE with great hesitation, but that hesitation quickly turned to confidence as I worked with Kirsten. I have a 18 year back injury and my body doesn't always work like textbook. She listened to all my fears, years of experience and asked questions. She knows how to listen to my body and work with me accordingly. I have also worked with Carrie and found success with her in her expertise. I love how CORE works together for the entire body. It has been a win for me!

I have been seeing Kirsten at Core Physical therapy for close to 10 years. Initially for hip pain. In the following years, Kirsten has helped me past a neck trauma, recovery & healing and then a second cervical spine surgery.
I cannot imagine where I would be physically or emotionally without her magical touch and invaluable insight.
Happy New Year Kirsten! See you in 2026.
