  Not family friendly. They make you come in for a consultation and then an appointment to do your cleaning. The company is part corporate owened and part physician owned. The corporate structure degrades the quality.

  Alcovy Dental is an excellent place! The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. They use the latest techniques, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

  The friendly and welcoming staff made my first appointment, a pleasant one. My previous dentist office didn’t have an appt available for me until the 18th of December and the drive there is an hour away from Covington. So I was panicking to find me a new provider who could see me right away before my birthday! I searched my in network and local providers and came across this office, said a prayer and hoped for the best! The online website for scheduling a next day appointment is what excited and relieved me. The kiosk for signing the new patients paperwork is very advanced technology! The Christmas decorations and the complementary water refrigerator in the waiting area made me feel at home. Seeing brown ppl in office too is 😁😁👍🏾 Keep up the excellent work!

  I was looking for a new dentist and tried Covington Family Dentistry, which is a sister company to Alcovy Family Dentistry. I booked a cleaning but once there I was told I was just having x-rays and an exam of the right side of mouth where I was having discomfort. They said I had to book another appointment for a cleaning. I was frustrated that I was expected to come back for a cleaning so I switched to Alcovy, not realizing they were a sister company. I got there and they explained they would do full xrays, a full exam, and then they would know if they could do a basic cleaning or if they would have to schedule me to come back for a deep cleaning. Frustrated and angry I said I was going to leave and go to another dentist. I was referred to the front desk lady who said all dentist operate this way. Since I've never heard of a "deep cleaning" at my previous dentist I decided to take the chance of having a basic cleaning at Alcovy. They took xrays and measured my gums and bone. A couple teeth scored 4's so they said I needed a deeper cleaning (surprise, surprise). I would have to make a 3rd appointment now and it would be more expensive, which insurance covered. I explained my anger and frustration to the doctor who then checked his schedule and chose to do the cleaning himself while he also did the exam. My past two dentists gave me goggles to wear when using the high pressure water, but not Alcovy. My past cleanings also included flossing and a fluoride treatment but not Alcovy. They are billing my insurance $542! I told them it wasn't my fault their sister company didn't do a full exam or full mouth xrays so I shouldn't have to pay for two exams and neither should insurance. Who knows what the future holds with insurance. The doctor explained he would have been upset too if he experienced what I did. He said I'm not the only one to be frustrated at having to come back for an actual cleaning and said he thought they should change their process to include 1.5 hrs for an initial exam, full xrays, and a cleaning. I agreed. I appreciate the doctor stepping up to clean and exam at the same time. I'm also still frustrated at this mess and having to write this review. This new practice of breaking down cleanings between basic and deep feels like a scam to get more money.
