I went once as a new patient. They hurt my gums, had to take x-rays multiple times, and then told me lots of bad news about my oral health and said they would have to do multiple things to fix it that my insurance would not cover. I was pretty upset about it and felt a bit weird, especially because unlike my other experiences with other dentists, they told me the bad news but did not show me on the x-ray or offer any explanation as to why they think these things. I ended up going to a different dentist and they disagreed on almost everything Tech Dentistry told me and actually explained their reasoning. I would not go back to Tech Dentistry. Whether purposefully or not, they told me they would have to do MULTIPLE expensive treatments for issues that I do not have.

From each person that I spoke with by phone (multiple times) to the truly exceptional front office experience to the assistants and hygienist, I was shown such respect and competence!
And Dr. Buchanan "sealed the deal"! So respectful and clear and excellent with me and her team. I am relieved. My search for a dentist is over!
I wish I could recall everyone's names, because they each were noteworthy, but I want to thank Angie and Stephanie and Dr. Buchanan.

They require x-rays every six months in order to receive a basic cleaning, even when previous x-rays were recent and unnecessary. These x-rays are not covered by GT dental insurance and are instead billed through student health fees. When I asked why they were needed again, the hygienist was condescending, and the cleaning that followed was rushed and incomplete.
There is also very limited availability for cleanings, while procedures like fillings can be booked next-day. My cleaning was scheduled two months out and then rescheduled twice, supposedly due to hygienist availability, but it was clear that appointments were being shifted to prioritize more expensive procedures.
It is disappointing that this is the primary dental provider GT students are directed to, as it seems more focused on maximizing use of student health fees than providing quality care. Even the phone number listed to “resolve concerns” does not connect to the office itself, but to a call center.
