  Know what you're getting into. It's "alternative medicine." Dr. Viktor Bouquette, MD is an internist, assisted by nurse practitioners and naturopathic medicine practitioners. For example, if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, you're better off with an endocrinologist. His practice "is out of network for all insurance providers." You must sign papers attesting that you are responsible for all lab tests, which can be very expensive if not covered by insurance. Heal Navigator cautions that "treatments can range from $5,000 to $12,000 and beyond." You may want to first try chiropractors who specialize in eating modification and supplements as a cheaper alternative -- and they usually accept insurance.
