My recent experience at this medical office for a pre-employment physical was unacceptable. The total appointment time exceeded two hours, with the vast majority of that time spent waiting with no communication.
I was left in an exam room in paper shorts—which were unnecessary for the services I was there for—for over an hour. Given the lack of instruction regarding the drug and alcohol screening process, the extended isolation was confusing.
When I inquired about the remaining wait time and politely asked if I could use an unoccupied space, such as a physical therapy room or treadmill, to stretch instead of sitting indefinitely, I was denied and told they were too busy. It felt as though asking a simple question about the timeline for my appointment was met with immediate hostility.
The most concerning issue, however, was the apparent retaliation that followed. Upon checking out, the staff made a point of laughing in a dismissive and unprofessional manner as I left. More significantly, it appears my drug screening sample was not submitted until the following week. This delay directly caused a two-week delay in my employment start date and resulted in an avoidable lapse in my health insurance coverage.
The combination of extreme wait times, poor communication, unprofessional staff conduct, and the significant administrative delay that negatively impacted my employment and insurance is unacceptable for a professional medical facility.
Prospective patients should be aware of the high likelihood of administrative incompetence and petty unprofessionalism when choosing this office.

I initially called in advance to schedule an appointment and although no appointment is required, they made one for me as a courtesy which I missed after falling asleep far earlier than usual thus not an alarm the night before. When I called to let them know that I woke up 15 minutes before my appointment and that I was getting dressed to head out, they were friendly and understanding.
When I arrived shortly before 10am with my initial arrival time being 8am, they were still friendly, fast paced and relaxed. I’m just starting a new job hiring process and have been using a government provided phone with no data plan, only unlimited talk/text and I couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi pass I have been using in place of the data plan and suffered technical issues with the Wi-Fi not staying connected as I filled out my forms, but that was no problem because the registration nurse had a tablet for me to use to complete my signing as I’d at least gotten that far. I only had a wait 45 minutes before my appointment began, which was helpful because I missed breakfast to get to Concentra as soon as I could.
With that being said, as I had to verify my information and failing to see that I had to also verify my social security number before completing my urine test sample and physical, thus causing a hold up in the process because one digit was incorrect. It was a quick fix and I only had to verify my correct information on a separate form, apologizing for interrupting the nurses time efficiency. Nurse Millenia Brown was still kind.
Dr. Ingrid R. Burton had to verify some medical record information, so I ended up having to take a trip to Grady, but I kept them updated as to not further interrupt their great work flow and service which helped my own time efficiency with the unscheduled hospital visit. I got back about an hour later and to make a long story short, I was quickly seen again by Dr. Burton and given my DoT card. Everyone was very professional and very helpful. I’d recommend you to go to Concentra for the best experience possible and quality of care with this being the second office I’ve visited as I’m employed with the same company that’s under a different contract with policy differences, thus having to reapply for the same job at another location. This Concentra office is pretty tech savvy and a well oiled machine.
