- DDDX DXOct 29, 20251.0This place is the living embodiment of incompetence. I walk in on Monday to schedule an appointment to get blood work done for an upcoming surgery. They won't see me as a walk-in and they schedule me for 2 days out on Wednesday for the blood work. Long story short after waiting there for over an hour, they say they can't see me because they don't do this there since it's not a body part that they've treated me for before. People at the front desk if properly trained should know the services in which they provide before scheduling people. Another way this situation could have been avoided was if they bothered to do any chart prep and try to get an authorization from the insurance company for the visit before the patient walks through the door for the appointment; Especially since the visit requires an authorization from the insurance company to be seen before the visit. Then all they needed to do was make a phone call and cancel the appointment and give it to somebody else who can be taken care of. Thus their incompetence has not only wasted their time, it wasted my time and it cost Concentra money by wasting an appointment slot for a patient that they could have treated. On a second note, during my visit there, the front desk check-in woman made a call to my insurance company to get an authorization to treat me that day, during that phone call she verbally stated out all of my PHIs so loud that the entire waiting room could hear, thus violating my HIPAA rights by stating my social security number, my date of birth, and my full name for the entire waiting room to hear. Utter and complete incompetence on full display by the staff of Concentra in North Lakeland today.
