Love love love this chiropractic office, everyone is so kind and friendly. Staff attentive and makes the visit so easy. Dr. Patel is wonderful, very knowledgeable and great in his field. I was very nervous for years to see a chiropractor my husband had to visit for a DOT physical and couldn't stop raving about the place and the staff, so I gave it a shot and now I could not have asked for a better place to go to. Thanks guys for all you do, it is appreciated!!

I have been going to this Chiropractor for a long time. I had to wait outside because they have added some sort of fragrance diffuser in their office. I told the receptionist that I am severely allergic to fragrance and I will have to wait outside until the doctor is ready. She unplugged it, which was nice but does nothing for me in the moment.
I was called to come back in and I was told the doctor would be right with me. I could hear him on the other side of the wall having a social conversation with a patient that did not involve patient care. I was perplexed as to why the receptionist would bring me back in if the doctor was not ready. I couldn’t even wait in the waiting room, so why would I be able to wait in another room?
Even with my mouth/nose covered in my shirt, my throat and sinuses were becoming very sore and I was feeling lightheaded. I knew that if I stayed in there any longer, the symptoms would only worsen and spread to other areas of my body. It is a full body flu that lasts for days if I don’t remove myself. That is why I used the word severe. It was not to be dramatic.
I walked out to the parking lot to leave. Then I hear a different receptionist calling my name across the parking lot. I told her what I had told the previous receptionist. She made a comment that it’s an essential oil. That’s when I knew that they truly have no idea what they are doing.
I explained to her that a severe fragrance allergy is as serious as a peanut allergy. It causes the same immune response which attacks the entire body. I also explained to her that an essential oil is fragrance. Fragrance is a chemical. Companies can call chemicals whatever they want to call them in the US. They can call them natural, organic, essential oils, non toxic, they can call them blends. The list goes on and on.
I have been seeing an allergist for over 10 years and whenever you are diagnosed with allergies like the one that I have, they educate you heavily on what it does to the body and how to know if an allergy is in a particular product so you don’t get sick and die. I could tell that the woman out in the parking lot was really not catching on to what I was trying to explain to her. I also mentioned to her that a lot of people with allergies like me typically don’t say anything and just suffer because it’s embarrassing and they don’t want to cause problems. It is a very, very common allergy to have.
Additionally, fragrance coming from devices like the one they were using, plug ins, and sprays contain more than just fragrance. The chemicals and/or the fragrance can harm children and babies. This is a well documented issue. If someone has asthma, COPD, certain cancers, etc. these products can cause serious issues. I told her that I couldn’t believe a medical office would have something like that in their building.
After speaking with her in the parking lot, she talked me into coming back into the building and said she would have the doctor in the room, ready to see me. Which was what was supposed to happen before so I was hesitant to agree. I get back in the room and the Chiropractor was acting extremely weird the entire time. So they obviously said something to him. It was very awkward and uncomfortable.
When I went to pay, the original receptionist asked if I wanted to make my follow up appointment. That blew my mind. I said no. She said that they could unplug it when I’m on the schedule. I again explain to her that it would take weeks to air out the building. She said that they would stop using it to not lose me as a patient. However, I could not get over the conversation that I had with the other receptionist out in the parking lot. I do not feel that she took what I said seriously by what she was saying to me. I am not comfortable relying on one person that may or may not be working that really didn’t seem to care that much to keep that device unplugged.
I will not be back. Very disappointing and frustrating experience. They all need educated. Having something like that in a medical setting is unheard of and irresponsible.
