My daughter was having some nerve pain and was referred for testing. This office staff worked with us to get her in quickly after they had a cancellation. They were friendly and professional and made her feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Dr. Rob Waterson and Ciera are the best! They are very welcoming and truly want to help. My son has autism. I had no idea where to turn for help. My son has social challenges and depression. He is on meds and seeing a therapist but i felt we could be doing more. I found Dr. Waterson through a professional Neurology association. He is wonderful in his approach to my son and his knowledge of the treatment. Since starting Neurofeedback this spring my son has made some incredible progress. More than anything Dr. Waterson gave us real hope. He is open, honest, caring and supportive. Dr. Waterson is so positive and compassionate it makes this journey that much easier.

I always look forward to my appointments at Synapse! Dr. Rob and his assistant, Ciera, are so kind, compassionate, and understanding.
I have Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), a connective tissue disorder that results in joint instability, injury & pain. Since I began using the Hyperbaric O2 Chamber (HBOT) I’ve had less pain throughout my body and more endurance to manage daily activities…something that no oral pain relief medication has been able to help me with.
I feel so comfortable under the care of Dr. Rob, who’s extremely personable and genuinely cares about my wellbeing. You won’t regret booking an appointment to see how he can support you!
Frequently Asked Questions About Synapse Brain & Spine Center
What should I expect on the first appointment?
During your initial visit, you'll have a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Waterson to discuss your symptoms. This appointment, which typically lasts about an hour, includes a QEEG brain scan, an infrared spinal scan, and a bedside orthopedic and neurological examination.
I've already gotten an MRI or a CT. Why do I need to have another brain scan done?
While MRI and CT scans are crucial for detecting serious issues like brain bleeds or tumors, a QEEG brain scan provides different, valuable information. If you're experiencing persistent symptoms despite clear MRI/CT results, the QEEG can reveal how your brain is processing information and pinpoint areas of physiological inflammation causing your symptoms.
What is brain health?
Brain health encompasses the overall wellness and optimal functioning of your brain. It involves maintaining cognitive abilities, emotional balance, and supporting a healthy brain structure through appropriate lifestyle choices and interventions.
Are there any specific foods that promote brain health?
Several foods are known to support brain health. These include omega-3 rich fatty fish, blueberries, turmeric, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, nuts, and leafy green vegetables. A balanced diet incorporating these foods, along with whole grains and lean proteins, can contribute to better brain health.
Does physical exercise really impact brain health?
Physical exercise has a significant positive impact on brain health. Regular exercise improves cerebral blood flow, stimulates new neuron growth, enhances cognitive function and memory, reduces dementia risk, and improves overall mental well-being.
Can brain health be affected by mental health conditions?
Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and chronic stress can indeed affect brain health. These conditions may impact cognitive function, memory, and overall brain performance. Seeking appropriate treatment for mental health issues is crucial for maintaining optimal brain health.
Is sleep important for brain health?
Sleep is essential for brain health. During sleep, your brain consolidates memories, eliminates toxins, and undergoes rejuvenation. Chronic sleep deprivation can negatively impact cognitive function, memory, and overall brain health. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted sleep nightly to support optimal brain function.
Can chronic stress harm brain health?
Chronic stress can have detrimental effects on brain health. Prolonged exposure to stress hormones may damage brain cells, leading to memory issues, cognitive decline, and increased susceptibility to mental health conditions. Implementing effective stress management techniques is crucial for maintaining brain health.
How can I improve my brain health?
Improving brain health involves multiple strategies. These include regular physical exercise, consuming a nutrient-rich diet, engaging in mental stimulation through puzzles and learning activities, ensuring adequate quality sleep, managing stress levels effectively, and maintaining strong social connections.
Can brain health decline with age?
While some cognitive abilities may naturally decline with age, it's important to note that significant cognitive decline is not an inevitable part of aging. By adopting a brain-healthy lifestyle and implementing appropriate interventions, it's possible to mitigate or slow down age-related cognitive changes.
