I had an appointment at 8:30 on a weekday to pick up my orthotics after 4 weeks of my initial appointment. When I show up the receptionist informs me that the appointment needs to be re-scheduled because the orthotics did not come in. I received one call and one text message reminding me of the appointment the days prior my appointment and they could not call the day before to cancel the appointment? I had to take time off work and drive over one hour to hear their apologies? This is so inconsiderate and unprofessional taking for granted patients' time. Then doctor's offices charge fees for unmet appointments. What can a patient do when its the other way arround?

Update: Thank you for your condescending reply. I know the intended purpose of scanning my ID, but as an attorney and IT Security specialist informed me, your system cannot promise security or privacy. I did not get your information from Google, but my insurance provider. But thank you for the tip. Also, as previously mentioned, strive though you may, I was NOT informed. Hence, the following. I hope that anyone thinking of visiting your office reads the arrogant, patronizing, and unprofessional response you decided to post and thinks twice about placing their trust and healthcare in such hands. What a waste of my time. First, despite the fact that I was treated like a new patient no one bothered to tell me that their location had changed. I was also told, only when I got to the front desk, that I was required to have my photo ID scanned in order to see the doctor. I see a number of doctors with different specialties all around the area and never once have I been turned away because I didn't want a identification with my photograph scanned into a system I am not familiar with. I was told by an attorney that it is my right to refuse. Apparently it is also the right of healthcare providers to refuse care to anyone not submissive to their policies. I guess that's good for me to know ahead of time since I will be seeing another doctor.

Have been seeing Dr. Patel for almost 20 years, and now all my friends and family do, too. He’s the best, and as someone who had a fear of doctors, his patience and care have always been so greatly appreciated.
