I’m not usually one for writing reviews, but I have to share my positive experience with this dental practice. I recently moved to the area and had my daughter five months ago. To my delight, they quickly accepted me as a new patient within a few weeks of my initial call. I had to bring my infant with me, and my hygienist, Kim, was incredibly accommodating and understanding. She skillfully worked around the baby, which might seem like an inconvenience to some, but she made me feel completely at ease. Kim was exceptionally thorough with my cleaning and took the time to explain every step of the process. She even answered all my silly questions, which was a huge plus. Overall, I had an amazing experience with this dental hygienist and the practice itself. I’m so glad I found them!

I haven't seen a dentist in about 12 years. I have a tooth that started falling apart about 2.5 years ago. Every now and again it would hurt, swell up so I would take antibiotics I had leftover, 600mg of Ibuprofen for pain and swelling, and topical 20% Benzocaine liquid on a Q-tip and hold it in different places. Overall the years, the actual tooth disintegrated and there was nothing but a smooth gum where the tooth was, well, the root remained also. This time the pain was intense and the entire side of my face blew up like a balloon. I called Life Long dental with absolutely no expectations. The person who's name I can't remember (regrettably) was so very kind, helpful, and understanding. They were able to get me in 1 hour from that point on time! A new patient with an emergency‽ They took all my info and I was off! Upon arrival, I was asked to check in at 1 of their kiosks which even was able to scan my insurance and license. When I was done, I never sat down, I was called in immediately by the nicest assistant. She took x-rays,and 2 standard photos of the "tooth" and showed me on a large screen on the wall next to me. Then, a very friendly Doctor came in next, Dr. Shah. He was friendly, knowledgeable, gentle, and best of all, he didn't reprimand me for my neglect of dental care. I waited for the scolding that never came. Instead, he was understanding and he gave me options...well for everything after surgery. Unbeknownst to me, the roots of the tooth were getting removed then in there. I expected antibiotics, scolding, and a follow-up for surgery. Now I won't lie, and neither did he. Due to the significant swelling and the massive pain I was already in, the multiple injections of Novacaine were painful. He said he would try his best to minimize it but, yes, it would hurt and he had plenty of it to give me as much as I needed to ensure I was numb. The actual extraction of the roots was painless. My adult daughter was permitted to be at my feet, so she could allow me to squeeze her hand. It also did something else, relaxed her because now she knows what's going to happen to have her broken tooth removed minus the excruciating pain of needles puncturing a very infected gum and adding more pressure onto an already painful nerve. Overall, a very positive, and minimally painful experience. The pain was unavoidable and Dr. Shah and his staff did everything in their power to minimize it and not add to it. Dr. Shah and the staff at Life Long Dental Care in Northford CT come highly recommended by me. I want to thank them for taking a very painful thing when I was scared to death and making me as comfortable as possible not just with Novacaine but with their actions, their words, and most of all hearts. Because true feelings come through in body language. So thank you Dr. Shah and staff of Northford LLDC!
