I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the orthodontics department. I waited two hours for a scheduled braces consultation with no warning or communication about the excessive delay. Eventually, I had to cancel the appointment, which is very upsetting because that is time I will never get back.
As a basic courtesy, I should have been given a heads-up about the long wait so I could decide whether to stay or reschedule. A delay of 2 hours is completely unreasonable and shows an absolute disregard for patients’ time. Even waiting 20–30 minutes would be pushing it—two hours is unacceptable.
If appointments cannot be honored anywhere near their scheduled time, then they should not be booked that way. This experience has made me seriously question whether this is the right place for my child’s orthodontic treatment, and I am unsure if I will return to this specific department.
Respect for patients’ time matters, and unfortunately, that was clearly lacking here.

From the moment we walked in, Jeanine welcomed me and my kids with warmth and professionalism. She went above and beyond—making sure we had everything we needed, even providing writing supplies when I asked. Her cheerful smile, personal attention, and exceptional customer service turned what could have been a routine appointment into a genuinely enjoyable experience.
The office itself is a joy for families: Colorful, filled with toys and balloons, and designed with thoughtful details that made my kids feel at ease. My children especially loved the dolphin statue hanging from the ceiling, grinning with braces—it’s clear this office has thought of everything to make patients comfortable.
It’s employees like Jeanine, who combine professionalism with genuine care, that will keep us coming back. This office earns an A+ in every way!

Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Dental FunZone
When should my child first visit the dentist?
We usually recommend scheduling your child's first pediatric dental visit as soon as their baby teeth begin to appear. This allows us to prevent any cavities from forming and talk with you about how to care for your child's teeth.
How often should my child visit the dentist?
We recommend most children visit the dentist every six months. We may recommend coming in every three months if we discover your child is more prone to cavities.
When and how should I start cleaning my child's teeth?
You should start brushing your child's teeth as soon as they start to appear. Use a toothbrush and toothpaste your child likes and turn toothbrushing into a fun game! You can both take turns role-playing as a dentist, brushing the front, back, sides, and top of the teeth in a circular motion.
Why are baby teeth important?
The baby teeth serve as spacers for the adult teeth. Children who have severe damage to their baby teeth are more likely to damage their permanent teeth as well. Early loss of baby teeth may cause loss of space for permanent teeth, causing orthodontic problems later on.
What kind of toothbrush should kids use?
We recommend you get a soft-bristle brush with a small head for cleaning your infant's teeth. As your child grows, switch to a toothbrush with a slightly larger head.
When should children start flossing?
If there is little or no space between your child's teeth, this is usually a sign that you should be helping them floss. Flossing is less necessary if there is a lot of space between a child's teeth.
Are x-rays safe for children?
Yes! Today's x-ray technology uses only 25% of the radiation when compared to earlier generations. Therefore, dental x-rays are considered incredibly safe for your child. If you ever have any questions about your child's safety during their checkup, don't hesitate to ask.
What is the difference between a pediatric dentist and a family dentist?
Family dentists can provide excellent general care for patients of all ages, but our pediatric dentists specialize in assessing the needs of infants and children. We monitor kids to ensure healthy oral formation while also keeping them comfortable, safe, and at ease during their visit.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
The cost of orthodontic care can vary greatly, depending on the patient's needs. We can provide a personalized estimate during your child's appointment. Additionally, we can talk to you about financing and insurance assistance as needed.
Does insurance cover orthodontic treatment?
Some insurance policies will cover orthodontic care, at least partly, and some will not. It depends on your specific insurance, but we are always happy to talk with you about the best ways to maximize your reimbursement.
