Right off the bat, they announced a 2.5-hour wait time. When I confirmed I would stay, the clerk/medical assistant visibly rolled her eyes at me. This set the tone for what would be an incredibly frustrating experience. And yes, it truly was a long ass wait—they weren't exaggerating about that part. The entire staff wears headsets with earpieces that are hanging on by a thread and are grossly loud. I could hear everyone's private information throughout the facility, including providers giving orders over these headsets. This is not a big facility there is absolutely no reason they can't get up and communicate face-to-face or use a secure group chat. If restaurant-grade communication equipment is your privacy solution in a medical facility, you have a serious HIPAA problem. I was told the results would come back in 15 minutes. I didn't hear anything for 1.5 hours. It would not have been hard to just update the patient even a quick "still waiting on results" would have made for a better experience. Basic communication isn't optional in healthcare. I had a trainee providing my care, which is totally ok. However, her male preceptor and the trainee continuously spoke Spanish in front of me while doing my intake. This is NOT APPROPRIATE. Patient care should be conducted in a language the patient understands. I felt completely excluded from my own medical assessment. Also trainee had badge flipped entirety of visit but likely Esmeralda from discharge paperwork of who performed swabs; word of advice put your phone away it was upright with camera lens showing the entire time felt like you were recording.The male preceptor made several disturbing comments that crossed professional boundaries. He told me "happy birthday" when my birthday is 6 months away, then trainee made a joke that I "probably don't remember it." What? This is not appropriate small talk it's just weird and confusing. He also complimented me on my biceps, which gave weird vibes, especially following the birthday incident. These comments, combined with the language exclusion, created an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment.
My paperwork states "Chaperone was offered: Patient declined the presence of a chaperone." This is false.My case didnt need a chaperone but don't document that I declined when the offer was never made. Under Review of Systems Breasts: Reviewed and found to be negative yet no breast exam was performed, and given the nature of my visit upper respiratory infection there was no clinical indication for one.
The discharge paperwork shows an incorrect height, leading to a calculated BMI of 16.76. When the provider (CRISTIAN SANTIZO) entered the room, he stated"I expected you to be some ill feeble thing”Granted my vitals were stable, but if he actually had a patient with a BMI of 16 laying eyes on the patient and doing an assessment would have been appropriate. Suggests he didn't critically review the chart or didn't recognize that the documented ht/BMI was clearly erroneous.I intentionally try not to disclose my ED nurse occupation and NP education/clinicals to see care from the patient perspective. This provider continued to lecture me about how "real life and school are very different," which felt condescending and unnecessary. But here's the thing: PATIENT CARE AND EDUCATION SHOULD BE CLEAR regardless of whether it's "real life" or "school." Standards don't change.
Negligent Discharge Instructions: The discharge paperwork is filled with abbreviations: "tx empirically," "advise nasal decongestant for allegra D," "advise f/u PCP if not resolving approp." Using abbreviations in discharge paperwork is negligent. How many patients go home and have no clue what they were told, then can't understand the discharge paperwork because the provider they paid for was LAZY? Patients deserve clear, understandable instructions written in plain language—not medical shorthand that requires healthcare literacy to decode.
NOT SAYING ALL EXPERIENCES ARE ALIKE JUST GIVING AN ACCURATE REVIEW SO HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS CAN DO BETTER FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES.

The staff and the doctor were so very professionals. The one inconvenience is the waiting file. I had to wait around 1 hour to be assisted. All rest was so good.

I’m writing this in acknowledgment that the day I came to be seen, Concentra was experiencing an outage with their computer systems making things difficult for the staff. I was told that the wait would be about 4 hours just for a physical. The parking below the facility is free, but the lot was full so I had to park somewhere else that was a minimum of $10 for 2 hours. I parked my car and then 2 hours went by without being seen, then I had to move my car. When I came back I had missed my name by just a few minutes.. which resulted in me having to wait the additional 2 hours. I asked if I could be seen and they said their system was back up and running and that those with appointments became priority again which was really frustrating because I missed my name being called by having to put more $ in the meter. At the least there was bottled water and snacks and the staff was friendly. Not a place to go if you have something to do later that day but if you have the entire day free 4 hours is how long you’ll probably wait to be seen. Not fun.

Although the wait was long, i received excellent care here. I was told the wait time was 2.5 hours and that time was met. The doctor and nurse were extremely kind and helpful
