- SMSteve MNov 5, 20251.0Went in for simple eye exam and refraction. Did first half of exam with standard machine and a "technician" that was very unsure of herself. With that finished I was informed that the refraction would be done via remote video.....what? Ok let's try. Some lady who said she was in Florida explained she would remotely manipulate the optical refractometer. I could barely understand her English. End result was inclusive.....really...come on. They wanted me to come back when they actually had a real doctor on site and offered to schedule. apparently Stanton has one real optometrist in the Sacramento area that rotates through one day a week. I let them know my schedule was pretty full and left with a "don't call me, I'll call you." I should have read their yelp reviews first and not listened to their over produced TV ads. I can see why they need to be heavy on advertisement. Good part--> cost nothing but my time. Read review: programed, canned, precomposed, auto response...

But either you accept a certain insurance or you don't, don't disclose that you do and when I get there tell me something different, train your staff or update your website.

I forget his name unfortunately, but one of the gentlemen who works here (African American) is SO sweet and friendly and always makes me comfortable when I have to come in for an eye exam or new glasses. They do what I think is outsourced remote eye exams, and it actually works just as good as having an in person optometrist doing it. I had to come back in and get my frames fixed after breaking that shortly after getting them and they fixed super fast and only 20% the cost of new frames. My ONLY critiques are that the frames themselves are expensive compared to buying them online, but then again you can't try on frames online xD Also alot of the time when I come in they're so busy and only have 1 or 2 salesman working that you have to wait to be seen, but that's no fault of the employees themselves. Also the parking around the building sucks, but not really their fault, most parking lots in Sacramento are designed stupidly xD Overall I definitely recommend Stanton Optical, as they are less expensive then other similar businesses, especially if you don't have vision insurance. Oh yeah! They work with Affirm, so you can do payments with little to no interest! 🤌🏽🙏🏽❤️
