- PBPeter BeerkensNov 20, 20251.0Absolutely ridiculous service provided to my wife. We came in to have her IUD removed, which was also done at Planned Parenthood several years ago, and the lack of comfort or care provided was even worse than the first time. They provided her no medication or medical supplies before or after the procedure, and no consent forms for receiving her patient education information. They also gave no discharge papers, leaving her no treatment or recovery information. Now she is writhing in pain with no understanding of how to treat it. When calling the clinic back, they blamed my wife, saying she should have asked for discharge papers and recommended only OTC medication - which she has already taken - and no other solutions. They told her she would have to come back in order to receive her patient information, which she is unable to do from the pain. The fact that they can do a digital confirmation or even a Telehealth visit is wild to me. You should not have to ask for discharge papers - it should be expected. When you get a vasectomy, they give you papers upon papers and medication before leaving. The disparity between how women and men are treated in healthcare is not something unique to Planned Parenthood, but it is disappointing to see it come up again and again. My doctor Sarah was kind and helpful and willing to answer all my questions (even a tangent that was unrelated to my visit). I can't imagine what life would be like without Planned parenthood, I feel so grateful to have them close and accepting my insurance! This location is my favorite but they are all super professional and easy to make an appointment with.
