- RRRobertSep 13, 20251.0Came in because my glasses broke and I needed a new pair quickly. BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES AND FALSE ADVERTISING. I went in for the buy one get one + free eye exam deal. I got my exam, picked out my frames which should have put the total around $150, and the lady at the desk tells me I owe $450. I was completely stunned and asked how that could be, she told me I needed antiglare and polycarbonate lenses as part of my prescription. LENS UPGRADES LIKE THAT ARE NOT PART OF A PRESCRIPTION AND ARE JUST UPCHARGES. Any other glasses place on earth presents these to you as optional upgrades, not "prescription mandated requirements" that are added to the price by default. Also, how the hell is a polycarbonate lens going to help me see better? The only thing that affects is durability. It was purely a lie and a scummy sales tactic to rip off people who don't know any better. Thankfully, I got her to take those upgrades off but it was still an extra $110 for the lenses. They do not mention that the lenses arent included anywhere on the website or in the store, infact the ad makes it sound like they're specifically included. I would have just walked out but I had already taken the eye exam and would have had to pay for that if I backed out. What should have cost $150 ended up being $250. And to top it all off, I have to wait 2 entire weeks without glasses. The website advertised glasses ready in 30 minutes but that seems to be only for people with mild prescriptions, anyone that actually needs glasses to see is gonna have to wait. Overall terrible experience. Lots of false advertising and being up charged and lied to was the cherry ontop. And I left the store as blind as I came in. Getting glasses should be straightforward, not like trying to wheel and deal a used car salesman. Only good thing I can say is the gentleman who helped me with the exam was very nice, give that guy a raise.
