I had gynecomastia surgery with Dr. Babak Dadvand, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. From the very first consultation, he made me feel comfortable, informed, and confident in my decision. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and never rushed me.

Hi, I'm 45 years old. I never had the opportunity to take my shirt off because I had a big and puffy areola and felt very embarrassed. There's times I have to lift my shoulders forward to cover my chest and wear dark colors and loose shirts. In some occasions I did put clear tape so my areola wouldn't be seen. I did finally decided to have Gynecomastia surgery after 30 years of suffering. I am completely satisfied with my results. I feel younger and masculine. I thank all the workers, Lydia and Dr.Moein for all their work... thank you and God bless you. If you’re reading this and experiencing similar issues, please don’t let yourself feel uncomfortable; instead, do what’s necessary to feel confident in tight-fitting shirts. I strongly recommend Surgeon Dr.Moein Best wishes - H.Avila

Frequently Asked Questions About Gynecomastia Surgery Center in Los Angeles

What is gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia is a medical condition characterized by the enlargement of breast tissue in males. It occurs when there's an imbalance between testosterone and estrogen hormones, causing the breast gland tissue to swell. This condition can affect one or both breasts and may occur unevenly. Gynecomastia is different from pseudogynecomastia, which is simply excess fat deposits in the chest area without actual breast tissue enlargement. The condition is relatively common and can occur at various life stages, including infancy, puberty, and older adulthood.

What causes gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia has several potential causes, primarily related to hormonal imbalances. The main causes include natural hormonal changes during puberty or aging, certain medications (such as anti-androgens, anabolic steroids, some antidepressants, and heart medications), health conditions affecting hormone production (like hyperthyroidism, kidney failure, or liver disease), and the use of substances like alcohol, marijuana, or heroin. In many cases, particularly in teenagers, gynecomastia resolves on its own as hormone levels stabilize. However, when an underlying cause is identified, addressing that issue may help resolve the breast enlargement.
