- EEEricaDec 16, 20251.0This was my second visit to this urgent care. During my first visit, I was seen by Dr. Green, who was attentive, professional, and provided excellent care. Unfortunately, my second visit was a very different experience. I was seen by NP Raul Rodriguez, and the interaction was extremely uncomfortable and disappointing. From the moment he entered the room, I felt judged and body shamed. He repeatedly referenced my BMI and implied that my pain was related solely to my weight, rather than taking the time to listen to my symptoms or concerns. At one point, he asked me what I thought was wrong with me, which I found dismissive and unprofessional. He also stated that if I was truly in that much pain, I should have gone to the emergency room, which made me feel further invalidated rather than supported. After that comment, I no longer felt comfortable continuing the conversation. I later overheard him telling another nurse that he “tried to explain” things to me but that I “wouldn’t listen,” which was upsetting and not an accurate reflection of the interaction. Overall, the experience lacked empathy, professionalism, and appropriate bedside manner. I believe patients deserve to feel heard and respected, especially when they are in pain, and this experience fell far short of that expectation.
