About

Chiropractor
The Camarillo Spine and Nerve Institute was developed by Dr. Edmond Dooman out of a need to find the right principles to treat patients at a Camarillo Chiropractic facility who thought they were out of options. The Camarillo Spine and Nerve Institute was created and the innovative Gonstead Protocol Decompression method was put into place. This innovative method is so successful that Dr. Dooman now travels to other colleagues to teach them the practice.

I was very well treated by Dr. Dooman and staff while receiving my treatment. However, the treatment did not work for me. It was supposed to be a 3ish month treatment and got extended by another 3 months and it still did not give me any relief whatsoever. It doesn’t work for everyone. So I was the one that it didn’t work for. Not faulting the doctor for this. My reason for the 2 stars was the way my treatment ended. I had asked for an X-ray to see if the disks were moving and Dr. Dooman did so. The next visit after the X-ray he showed it to me and said that they had moved a few millimeters and he was satisfied with it. His words. Also his famous words “I’m not giving up on you.” Well, after these famous words, I walked out as per usual. But then, the office “manager” called me and said I was being “discharged”, and that the doctor said my treatment had ended, and gave me discharge paperwork to sign. (What the heck?!! The doctor didn’t tell me that. Why???) Then, she went on to say it looked like my insurance didn’t cover future chiropractor visits, but she wasn’t certain. I asked her to call the insurance and confim, and call me back, and to my surprise she never called me back. Rude, dismissive, gaslighting…. Unbelievable! After 6 months, I was just “let go.” No apathy, no regard whatsoever for a patient. Super sad how it all ended. Would I recommend his treatment? I don’t think so, unfortunately. The office left a very sour taste in my mouth.

I liked Dr. Dooman's adjustments, but didn't really like how long I was waiting each time. I stopped coming here because the adjustments started causing pain instead of reducing it. I was regularly leaving with my back feeling great, independent of its condition when I arrived. In April 2022, I fell off my mountain bike and broke my collar bone. I called to tell them that this had happened, and that I'd landed on my head and probably moved things around in my back. I said I thought it might be worth it to re-do my consultation, or at the very least take a new x-ray. When I came in next, the doctor had not been informed of this news, and still didn't think an X-ray or consultation was necessary when I told him. I left this appointment feeling ok, but in the two that followed, I arrived feeling fine, and left in pain. I haven't been back here since, except to pick up my original back X-ray to give to my physical therapist.

I have been coming with Dr. Dooman for 2 years he is one amazing doctor & well now the whole place itself changed! They set up an appointment for you and now your waiting time is minimum 30min after your appt time! Staff is somewhat unprofessional their new desk is mo longer the same. Theya re quick to rush you in and out. The quality of the place and the care for their consistent long term clients became just like everyone else! They just see the money in you! their old staff always found ways to fit you in especially when the pain was unbearable
