  I had such a great experience with my trainer, Emmanuel! He thoroughly demonstrated the machines that I wanted to learn and I was able to learn them smoothly and quickly without any issues and provided me with alternatives as well, in case certain machines were too difficult or believed that an alternative would act as a better solution. I’d highly recommend Emmanuel!

  My go-to gym! There is plenty of parking. The space is large and open (3 floors) with a variety of equipment, and the classes are always fun and motivating. While it does get busy around 5-8pm, it’s still very manageable to get a great workout in. I especially love the women’s-only section, it’s a fantastic feature at this location. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the pricing for memberships is excellent. I have the Fit membership and truly feel like I get great value for my money.

  1-Star Review – Misleading Practices & Unprofessional Conduct I had a very disappointing experience with Fitness World Canada, specifically the Kingsway (5500 Kingsway) Burnaby location, involving misleading information, unethical billing, and unacceptable staff behavior. In November last year, I visited the club in person to cancel my annual membership. At that time, the front-desk staff clearly told me that annual memberships cannot be cancelled until January and asked me to return then. I relied on this information. When I returned this January, I was informed that a 30-day notice was required, which I accepted. However, after completing the cancellation form, I was unexpectedly charged: A full annual membership fee ($62.99), and Two additional bi-weekly payments ($23.09 + $23.09 + Tax) Charging a full annual renewal after a cancellation request is completely unacceptable. Either I was misguided during my November visit, or these charges should never have occurred. This experience felt financially exploitative. What made the situation worse was the behavior of the manager on duty, named Shauna. Her responses were arrogant and dismissive, which is unprofessional—especially when a customer is raising legitimate concerns. The contrast was very clear: staff were extremely polite and accommodating when signing me up, but once I requested cancellation, the tone changed and hidden conditions suddenly appeared. This has been a terrible overall experience. I strongly advise anyone considering Fitness World to carefully read all cancellation terms in writing and proceed with caution before joining. Great sales pitch when joining, but extremely poor transparency and customer treatment when trying to cancel. Be very careful.

  I am extremely disappointed with how this membership was sold and structured. I was verbally told I was signing up for a 1-year membership, but later discovered in the written agreement that it is actually a 24-month minimum payment obligation, followed by automatic month-to-month renewal unless cancelled in writing. The contract language is highly confusing and not transparent for an average customer. Key financial obligations are buried in dense legal text, while sales conversations strongly downplay the true length and consequences of the agreement. I believe this business model relies on customer confusion rather than informed consent. I strongly recommend that anyone considering Fitness World read every line of the contract and ask direct questions in writing before signing. This experience has completely damaged my trust in this company.
