I actually feel uplifted whenever I come here. I never thought I'd say that about a dentist's office! I had my 4 boys, ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 in yesterday, my oldest used to be terrified of the dentist. Here they felt at ease and comfortable. They were all giggling together as the had their teeth cleaned and watched a funny show. Their giggles filled the office, and it felt really special to hear that sound where there is often anxiety and fear. My oldest has had fillings done here, and still is relaxed about it enough to just come with no fuss. Way to go, team. I am so grateful for you!

I took my 3-year-old son to Parkland Pediatric Dental for an emergency visit after he chipped his front tooth and signs of trauma on his second front tooth. I became uneasy with the treatment plan and sought a second opinion. After a thorough evaluation at another pediatric dental office, I learned that my son was completely fine. He did not need any of the procedures Dr. Cotton recommended. There was no nerve damage, no root fractures, and no medical need for the treatment proposed. Dr. Cotton recommended two root canals on my son’s baby teeth and suggested four porcelain caps, claiming that treating only two teeth would make them look like “bunny teeth.” He also showed me photos of another child who had undergone similar treatment the day before… The plan involved putting my toddler under anesthesia for procedures that turned out to be entirely unnecessary! The second dental office repaired my son’s chipped tooth easily with laughing gas and a simple crown. The other tooth needed no treatment at all. This experience was extremely alarming. It raises serious concerns about whether treatment recommendations were based on insurance coverage rather than genuine medical need. As a parent, I find it deeply troubling that such excessive and invasive procedures could be suggested for a young child. I am a mother who came in extremely worried and venerable and this has been it is very unsettling. The psychological damage this could’ve caused my child, from fearing future dentist appointments, to possibly being made fun by children for his unnecessary fake teeth. What the healing process of this procedure would’ve been like and a completely new smile on MY baby, my child. I hope this office reevaluates its approach and prioritizes the well-being of children above all else. I hope this review is taken seriously and that patient well-being, particularly for children, remains your top priority.
