just waited 7 1/2 hours to be seen and finally had to leave. my kids were exhausted. each time we asked how much longer the answer kept changing. we decided here because it’s closer and it seems like it was an allergic reaction since it was spreading. but we will never be back. we waiting from about 6:30pm to 1:15am.

They drop you in a room then nothing for an hour or more still here ridiculous. ER should be evaluated on standard of care, all other hospitals in area do much better. I expect higher standards for children yet not in Arkansas.

We arrived on February 25th and were discharged on February 26th. This was by far one of the worst hospital experiences I have ever had. I was not there for the first half, but according to my brother and my fiancée, who took my son in, the first nurse was rude and seemed bothered when they asked questions. Once I arrived, the emergency room doctor was honest about the possibility of staying overnight, but he seemed awkward and communication was lacking. We then stayed overnight, and for the first 12 hours the hospital did not offer or provide any food or juice for my son. We were also required to remain in the original room where they were checking his vitals. Terrible overnight experience.

Getting ahold of someone has been absolutely impossible. My son needs a procedure done asap he does not have insurance and I have been trying to figure out my other options for self pay. I’ve been out in the run around, department to department leaving messages myself having other departments leave messages for over a week. No one will call me back and no one wants to listen when I try explaining my issue, I’m just interrupted and sent to finance department that continues to ring until it’s sent to a different department. I’ve been transferred to th head of that department and have left multiple messages. Nothing. Completely awful experience so unprofessional and no one cares at this hospital. Would be great if they do not want to help my son if they could refer me to a hospital that cares for children

I want to start out by making note that my daughter is autistic is quite verbal not fully but she is a very quick thinker and understand what's going on around her 100% but has a terrible fear of doctor's offices.. my daughter got a fever on Wednesday night that went all the way up to almost 105 we went to our doctor in Fort Smith on Friday and she wanted us to go to Springdale so Saturday morning we took a drive and ended up spending from 2:00 in the afternoon till midnight and the Children's Hospital Springdale ER and I just want to say that every single encounter from every nurse the check-in nurse the nurse practitioner on duty the CT scanner my night nurses truly everybody was beyond kind Beyond understanding supportive of my emotions and my feelings I couldn't help but get a little angry when I saw my daughter hurt but it wasn't at them it was just a natural reaction because my daughter has never been sick maybe a couple of times with just a light cold and we had covid when she was 1 years old but that is it so it was my first time seeing my baby truly in distress we were thinking appendicitis because where her issue was was on her left side we had to do a x-ray and ultrasound and CT so we did the ultrasound and she was pretty upset but we got through it because that ultrasound tech was amazing and was telling her we're just taking pictures and let her see the things she was using and then the CT worker was a guy that truly was probably the most kind understanding gentle person I have ever met and then a random doctor / anesthesiologist came in and assured me that there was a medicine that they like to use for neurodivergent children are just terrified children that last a little longer and could also give her some rest after all the tents moments we had she had to get stuck four times and then the fifth time they finally got an iv not because of these nurses weren't good at giving IVs it's because she was so dehydrated that her veins were blowing but they did amazing and they got her the first time every time the veins just weren't holding up every single experience we had there was terrifying but the emotion and the people behind it truly will be the reason that I don't go anywhere but Children's hospital for even honestly a mild emergency to an extreme emergency I will be getting the names of the people that took care of Emma and sending them personal thank yous and also will be calling a higher up and letting them know that these people are true Earth Angels in that from a Special Needs Mom that I can sleep better at night knowing if my child struggles I have a place to go where they were welcome me was open arms and give me the support that I need as well as my daughter thank you Children's Hospital I truly can't tell you how grateful I am for every single moment we spent with you guys yesterday.
