I visited this mcdonalds last night through the drive-thru as my 1 year old was sleeping in the backseat. I originally wanted to pickup a lasagna to make for dinner from Costco, but that takes an hour in the oven and my husband (who was home working on a mini reno project) asked if I could get mcdonalds instead, since he was super hungry and he didnt want to wait an hour for lasagna.
That's fine, I didnt mind. It was 4:25 pm on a Tuesday, that shouldn't be too bad? Right?
I pulled into the drive through line on the left, which at the time had about 4 cars in front of me, with the same in the right lane. Okay. It's busy, but it should still be faster than a lasagna in the oven right?
I noticed a truck pull in next to me in the opposite lane, and he got to order way sooner than I did. Whatever, you can't account for what people ahead of you order, and some are more complicated than others. No worries, I thought, we'll get there.
I went to order finally then, at this point, we're about a half an hour in. (I know this, as I kept texting my husband to keep him updated) baby is still asleep, and I gave them my order.
3 double cheeseburgers, plain, with a large coke and medium fries, and an apple pie
One number 2, deluxe with a large sweet tea. And a 4 count of chicken nuggets.
That was my order.
I pulled up to the first window, (which took about another 10 minutes) and paid. They asked if I wanted my receipt, I did not. (First mistake)
I got to the second window then. They seemed super confused as to my order. But finally got me my drinks and then asked if I could pull up to the drive thru wait spot number 2. I did so.
About 15 minutes later they came out with a filet o fish and something or other. I said no, thats not what I ordered and she asked to see my receipt. Very frustrating. And then of course after this interaction, the baby woke up and started screaming in the back seat.
It's now about 5:15 and I've been waiting so long, and the baby won't stop screaming. I called the mcdonalds while I sat there to ask about our order. The lady who answered was a bit short with me, especially when I told her id been waiting now for almost an hour and instead of apologizing just said that she had just gotten there and was trying to sort things out. But that our food would be right out. Okay fine, thanks, and she hung up.
Maybe 5 minutes later, they brought out what they said was my order. I glanced at the food and I saw the burgers for my Husband, fries and a couple apple pies. I thought "they must have thrown in the extra apple pie as a sorry your food was so late kinda deal" and I left. I pulled out onto 38th and got to the light going east and thought, I should really double check this, I dont have the best feeling... I found 4 double cheeseburgers plain, a 10 count of chicken nuggets and the fries and 2 pies. But my deluxe number 2 was nowhere to be found.
It is now 5:25 pm and I had to drive back to the mcdonalds and park in the carry out spot and call them AGAIN. They said oops I guess we gave you the wrong order. Yea. No kidding. 5 minutes later and I got my sandwich and another thing of fries. Which were not salted at all, and because of that, were not good at all.
I had my husband come out to the car to help carry in everything so I could get the baby, and his Large Coke he got had a big hole in the side of it, so it sprayed over everything as well. So that was another fun tidbit about this disastrous experience.
I will be avoiding this mcdonalds post hence, and will be choosing the one on 72nd instead. Absolute disaster. Do not recommend.
