I like this location but they were not smart with the remodel. They shut down all the self checkouts and have regular stands open. Not a problem usually but they paired it with scheduling slow cashiers. We live in a world where companies expect loyalty but put little effort in showing they care for any customers.

I was there yesterday: the deli worker was awesome, she tended to all my needs. I had a few more things to buy, so I go to a cashier with my items. Im 3rd in line. Im behind a elderly woman (&her daughter). The woman forgot to put her phone # for discounts after he was asking for the funds. The cashier (Zachary) was very short tempered with an 80+ year old. He said she would have to go to the end of the line and then he would get her discount on her purchases. She had 3 bags of things! I said "there is no way she is going to the back of this line". Her daughter (in her 60's) spoke up and said "we are not going to the back of the line". Zachary pulled her items out of the bag with a slight attitude 🙄. Customer service should be a part of the job, workers need to have more patience with customers that need extra help. I would have gave more stars but this worker represents Safeway in such a negative way. Do a better job.

Great store, not their fault, just a sketchy area. Make sure to lock your car doors and it's worth it to wait for a closer parking space.

I would like to sincerely commend Kim, the manager at the Shelton Safeway, for her outstanding customer service. I recently purchased a gift card, only to discover that the funds had not been properly loaded onto the card. When I returned the next day, Kim took the time to personally assist me and spent over 45 minutes ensuring the issue was fully resolved and that my money was refunded. Throughout the entire process, Kim was patient, kind, and incredibly thorough. What stood out most was her ability to handle my situation while simultaneously assisting a long line of customers, all with a calm, positive, and professional demeanor. She never made me feel rushed or dismissed, and I truly felt that she cared about resolving the issue correctly. Kim’s ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while providing exceptional customer care is truly commendable. This experience reinforced my appreciation for Safeway and the leadership Kim brings to her store. Thank you, Kim, for going above and beyond!
