This review is a bit delayed, but I wanted to take some time to reflect before writing. I figured if I was still upset about it then I should write this review. I have generally loved this fish market—most visits include friendly service and quality food. I’ve been a regular customer for years, stopping in once or twice a month to purchase fish or grab lunch, and I’ve recommended this business to many people. Unfortunately, due to the following experience, I will not be returning as a customer. On October 6, my family was in town for my wedding, and I suggested ordering takeout from the Seattle Fish Market in West Seattle. We placed several separate orders through Toast to accommodate a large group, totaling food for approximately 20 people. When we arrived home, we discovered that a chicken tenders entrée and two cups of soup (one lobster bisque and one clam chowder) were missing from my order. Having worked in the food industry myself, I understand that mistakes happen—especially with a large influx of orders. I called immediately to let them know. Jon answered, was apologetic, and confirmed that a refund would be issued within 5–7 business days. When the refund did not appear, I called again on October 14. I spoke with a woman whose name I did not catch. She took my information and said the office manager would follow up within a few days. I also offered to provide receipts or any documentation needed. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I did try going through the Toast app we used directly but they said we needed to resolve this directly with the business. I called one final time on October 27 and spoke with Jon again. During this conversation, I was repeatedly interrupted while trying to explain the situation. Once he understood the issue, I was told that his staff would never make a mistake like this and that we must have left a bag behind, implying the situation was our fault. While he said he would “just believe me this time” that we didn’t receive the food or the refund, it was clear he did not believe me even though this was the third phone call about this. And I offered to provide proof of some sort (receipts, conversation with Toast, ect). He offered to remake the missing items for free on a future visit, but by that point the interaction felt dismissive and insulting. I did not feel comfortable returning to be treated like I'm scamming them, so I asked again about the refund that had previously been promised. I was told that issuing a refund would be too much effort and that the free food offer was the only option. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but it was disappointing to be spoken to this way as a loyal, long-time customer simply trying to resolve an issue they had already acknowledged. I am not writing this to harm the business, but times are tough, and I feel that where we spend our money should matter. I do not believe this is an acceptable way to treat any customer. If someone is having a difficult day, it may be best for another team member to handle customer concerns.

I love this place and these people! The fish is fresh and they have a large variety. Recommend the Captain’s Platter to take away. My welsh wife gave high marks on that platter as well-
