Its a mixed bag nowadays... receipt hassle at the door, often put of things, one incredibly nice guy in deli with one chronically crabby awfully rude woman... prices are often higher than Kroger and coupons less accurate info and more hassle but that's the whole company not this store specifically.

The self-checkout coupon slot hasn’t worked during my last two visits. Today, we requested assistance again. Despite being super nice and cordial, the person monitoring the self-checkouts acted like we did something wrong, but when she checked the machine, it clearly said the coupon slot was full and needed to be emptied. Despite that, she still acted as if the issue was our fault and looked annoyed that we needed help. The “ask for assistance” button is there for a reason, sorry for making you do your job!

There are a number of issues with this store from lack of inventory to lack of employment. That seems to be due to lofty and very young management.
Ice cream is on lock.
Detergent is on lock.
Due to lack of employment long wait times can occur due to this. The Roosevelt store is just 4 min away via car if this location proves to be a disappointment

Absolutely hate it here. They are expensive as hell, the strawberries I bought from here turned completely white with mold in just 2 days. And my layered bean dip soured in just 3 days .. both of which were NOT CHEAP. Seriously, just go to the nearest QFC. Their stalks of celery here are also pitifully small for what they're priced at. I cannot say it enough, JUST GO TO QFC!!!

They have now added the receipt check guards at this store, too. They are polite and try to be friendly, but it’s still a useless hassle for paying customers. And it’s not going to stop theft.
Also HIRE MORE PHARMACISTS! Has nobody told Safeway that two nearby pharmacies have closed? Have they not noticed the long lines? One prescription pickup took me 40mins. That’s pretty bad. I don’t blame the employees, they’re obviously going as fast as they can. I blame ownership and management for not doing anything about it.
Safeway has never been great, but now what used to be a way to share time with my kids when they were little by doing errands together has become just one more marker of how Americans have allowed security theater to let a police state slowly encroach on our lives. Gotta eat, so I am sure I will shop again, but I am going to take advantage of the delivery or pickup options.
EDIT: Below, I notice a reply from Safeway. I assume it’s a bot. Because a real person who was well-trained by a company that had its act together would have ALREADY FOUND that I have sent feedback via the app SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT MULTIPLE THINGS. Not once has anyone from the company responded with even an email acknowledging receipt of the feedback, let alone a reply to the issues raised. All well and good to hire a company to put replies in Google, but how about, you know, actually listening to customers?
