Had the most unpleasant time here with my girlfriend who ran in real quick to grab a few things. The lady, an older woman with bangs and gray, long hair, was being very rude and borderline racist when my girlfriend decided she didnt want to buy just one item in the basket she brought. She was eyeing my girlfriend the whole time in a very deragtory way. I have never had an experience like that at safeway and will now never be back. i don’t recommend ever going to this safeway as they clearly have staff that has no regard for the shoppers

Worst customer service I ever dealt with today at mill creek Safeway location. Didn’t catch her name but she was upset that I called to check if they have an item available at the store, she said they are very short staffed and refused to help me and leave her post. I asked to be transferred to the right department and said she they don’t have an option to transfer and didn’t help me at all, said I’ll need to call back and keep trying the department as she can’t help me when she’s short staffed. Will never go back to this Safeway ever again. This does not even deserve a 1 star!

Most Safeway workers don't even want to make you a burrito anymore. They get angry and make excuses, saying they already have some made or that they don't have the necessary ingredients. And in most cases, they're not doing anything at all.

I stopped in today to get a probiotic shot and go through self check out. All the self check out lanes had a sign saying no cash back. So I go to the only lane open. And the one person in line has a full cart. I go back to self check out and stand and wait there and I'm not acknowledged again by the employee who's having a personal conversation with a customer. Is that an employee comes up and is waiting to get her attention. So she's busy and I decide to go to the service desk. As I'm waiting at the service desk she finishes her conversation with the customer and then start talking to the employee and she comes in front of me and is talking to him loudly and in my ear. Not acknowledging me again and saying anything. When she's done with that conversation she then asked me if she can bring me up over at the self-checkout when I explained that I just wanted to get some cash back and didn't want to wait behind the long line in lane one.
Then she's telling me there's a limit for cash back. And how much do I want? She doesn't apologize for the wait. Or not noticing me when she did notice me. I told her I'll put it in the pin pad. Once again she repeats herself and says that there's a limit on cash back. I've been shopping at Safeway for over 30 years. I understand there's a limit. Then she goes through the checkout process so quickly I can't put my phone number in and she tells me that she'd have to cancel it and start over again and won't do it.
I'm frustrated by the experience and tell her so. And that I want to talk to a manager. And then she starts running her mouth and talking under her breath and telling me I have a bad attitude.
Then while I'm waiting for the manager she's talking to two other customers and complaining about me. If I did that to my customers I wouldn't have any.
When the manager came to talk to me he was very empathetic and nice and I appreciate that.
My question is why is Kathy working at the front checkout Lanes when she lacks basic courtesy and common sense? When she's immature insecure and unprofessional. W
Why does your corporation have someone working at the front end that is a very big and important job who can't handle themselves? Who can't be polite and observant. What else is she missing? This was a complete customer service fail today.
I'm grateful that your manager listen to me. And hopefully this one-star review will make a difference as well.
