Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers frequently reported poor service, including rude staff, long wait times, and incorrect orders.
Food Quality
There were numerous complaints about cold or stale food, as well as incorrect orders being served.
Staff Attitude
While some reviews praised friendly staff, many others noted a lack of professionalism and poor customer interactions.
Management Issues
Several customers mentioned a need for better management and training, citing systemic issues with service and order accuracy.

I had their chicken strips & fries meal. The chicken was tasty but the chicken and fries were just warm, not hot and fresh.
There were several employees working but the restaurant was very dirty. At the time of our visit there was only 1 other customer sitting in the dinning room. Every table that I noticed was dirty, including the one that we used. There was grease smeared in several places on our table and other food debris. There was garbage on the floor throughout the restaurant as well.
If the employees would have invested more time into wiping down tables and picking up trash instead of standing around chitchatting and playing around with each other, I would have given it more stars. The thing is, because there were so few customers dining inside, they could have cleaned the place up and then stood around talking and goofing off.
Restaurants should never be dirty, this place was DIRTY.

A Texas tradition for me for more than 60 years. Now as a senior I get a free drink with my meal. The large onion rings are my new staple, and the featured burger of the season is always a great choice. I am amazed that I still can wear my high school letter jacket. Maybe it's because I don't get out early enough to get the breakfast platters. I adore the sausage gravy. If you can't decide on a burger, grab a chicken fingers box! No Regrets. Eat In if you can to avoid dripping gravy in your lap and then some goes to waste, literally. Ho Ho Ho

Don't think I'll be coming back. Had a bad experience with someone in line honking and yelling at me. They seemed to have been friends with one of the workers.

I meant to share this on Sunday but completely forgot. I wanted to brag on the Whataburger in Rowlett. They were short-staffed that morning, but you would have never known it. Every team member was upbeat, incredibly kind, and working together seamlessly — from the sweet young woman who took my order, to the staff handling payments, to the person who brought out my food, and of course those working hard in the kitchen.
I also want to acknowledge the customers in line. Everyone was patient, respectful, and understanding. Not a single negative comment or frustrated look. It was truly refreshing to see, especially in a world where people can be so quick to react negatively.
