Had a great South Indian lunch at Kuppanna in Plano. The Kuzhambu Kalakki was rich and comforting. The mutton biryani made with fragrant jeera samba rice was flavorful and aromatic, served with excellent raita and chicken gravy. The Chicken Pallipalayam with kuska was a standoutâtender chicken, fresh coconut, and authentic flavors. Finished with refreshing nannari sarbath. Overall, tasty food and a pleasant dining experience. Would definitely visit again!

We had a very bad experience at Kuppanna, Plano. We ordered Gongu Chicken Biryani, Chicken 65, and Chicken Fried Rice. The fried rice was extremely salty. Even after requesting a correction, it took a very long time.
The salna was watery, the biryani did not taste good, and it seemed to be the last batchâI could even see some burnt rice. The quantity was also very less.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience and a complete waste of money.

Kuppanna, Plano, was disappointing on Christmas Day(12/25/25). Even though it was a weekday, they changed the regular weekday afternoon meal into a âChristmas Day specialâ and charged $25.99, but the quality didnât match the price. Most of the food was cold, and the desserts were served straight from the refrigerator. The Tandoori chicken was stale and hard to chew.
I informed the manager while we were there, he listened, but at billing, the only resolution was 10% off, which felt unfair given the situation. Their weekday meal is usually $16.99, and this felt like the same kind of meal, just priced up for the holiday, without delivering freshness. I left feeling like the holiday was used as an excuse to charge more, and IT'S A SCAM.

BEWARE OF ALL THE NEW AND RECENTLY EDITED REVIEWS OVER THE LAST 48 HOURS. THEY ARE BEING DONE TO HIDE THE INFLUX IF RECENT NEGATIVE REVIEWS. CHECK YELP WHERE THEY HAVE ONLY 4.1âď¸ mostly due to terrible service.
Iâve never experienced anything like this at a restaurant before. I was picking up an Uber Eats order today, and I took a harmless photo of a shirt someone was wearing inside the restaurant and the owner became very aggressive, demanding I delete it, 3 other men walked up, they threatened to call the cops and then photographed my car as I left. It created a very hostile environment. Just sharing so others are aware. Donât take photos in this establishment, I guess. Iâll even attach the photo that was takenâŚ
Edit: Looking at all these reviews, there are plenty of photos taken inside this establishment, so I wonder if the owner will call the cops on everyone else as well? đ¤
Response to owner: The ownerâs response is completely misrepresenting what actually happened. When I first walked into the store, I discreetly took one photo of an employeeâs shirt. That is all. By the time the owner approached me, my phone was already in my back pocket. He immediately demanded that I delete the photo and threatened to call the police if I didnât. At no point did he ask me to leave, and he never told me to âstop recording,â because I was never recording anything. I had taken a single photo before anyone even confronted me.
Your cameras will clearly show the owner and three other men surrounding me while I repeatedly asked for my order. Instead of simply giving me my food, the owner tried to question me further, including asking for my name because he said he wanted to report me to Uber. Once I finally got my order and left on my own, the owner followed me outside to my car and started taking pictures of me inside my vehicle, which is visible in the image I uploaded.
So my question is: what was the real intention here? There are plenty of customer photos on this businessâs reviews that you have no issue with, so the problem clearly wasnât the photo itself. Were you worried that someone might see your employees wearing political shirts and that it could affect your business? It is not unprofessional for employees to wear political attire at work?
