The manager, a woman named Melissa, was shockingly rude to an employee while I was eating at Portillos. She was literally yelling at the employee. It was honestly alarming how unprofessional and aggressive she was behaving. As far as the food, the meat smelled/tasted like it was off, and I couldn’t finish it. I couldn’t, in right conscience, eat there again while Melissa is managing it. Hopefully the employee finds a job that is more professional.

In a few words: a glorified fast food chain. First time visiting with a out of town friend. Not really sure what the hype was all about but this has been a disappointing experience. Maybe because I was expecting Portillo's to be a table service restaurant. The staff is great however.

Dropped by 10:30 pm last night and this service in this place was worthless. Drive thru not attended sat there 10 min and nobody came out or answered. Had to go inside. Most were doing nothing. Some were cleaning. The leads or managers seem to lost in their own world not saying much. Others recieved their orders wrong also while i was there.. 3 burgers.

This was a first-time experience at a place that is not familiar to me. I was placing a takeout order for a family member and could not place the order over the phone. Because I was not familiar with the menu I had several questions in called back to confirm I was ordering the proper thing online. I went through the drive-thru to pick up the order and was quickly told what I did wrong in order to pick up a takeout item. The food was amazing and for that reason I will forgive the 17 year olds running the store.

I know this isnt the true Portillo's experience but what I got was just..sad. There is no heart or soul put into these dogs, just minimum wage workers following a carefully optimized checklist on how to get the dogs out fast. I'd be ashamed to have my name plastered all over the products coming out of the kitchen but it seems like corporate doesn't care, as long as they can keep up the facade for people to keep coming in. At least the floors are shiny and the walls filled to the brim with "culture".
