Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

But he picked me up a chicken strip basket with four chicken strips, medium fries, some toast, and two gravies, and a large chocolate malt. I've had this twice now and both times the food was absolutely phenomenal!! The chicken was so tender and juicy and flavorful and the gravy and toast had great flavor as well! The fries were ok, I feel like they could've used some more salt and they also weren't as crispy as I would have liked either. But I'm not getting a chicken strip basket for the fries anyway, I'm getting it for the chicken and that was stellar!!

My wife grabbed us some breakfast items while I pumped the gas. When I was done she dragged me back to the Whataburger. It seems they were offering a free coffee or cold coffee for veterans. I felt truly honored that they would do this so apart from Veterans Day. The breakfast was delicious and the cold coffee helped keep me energized. I would not hesitate stopping there on future road trips.
