This was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. We did the tasting menu option where your server chooses what you eat (after you share what you like, don’t like, price point). Our server was Brandi and tbh, she could make a ton of money with a consulting gig teaching folks how to provide excellent service.
Uchiko clearly has an amazing chef and a really impressive focus on full-team service. Anyone who brings you a dish explains it to you and that is awesome. We loved all of our food. My fav was this trumpet mushroom bite that was possibly the best thing I’ve eaten in my life. I said what I said. Importantly, I wouldn’t have noticed it if Brandi hadn’t mentioned it when she took us through the menu.
If you’re looking for a once in a lifetime experience and a true food journey, check this place out. I’ve eaten at a few Michelin star places here and abroad and I can tell you this is that level of quality. The fish, the meat, the care and clear understanding of (and joy for) food comes through impeccably. The focus on service and experience is seamless and perfect. 1,0000/10.

Terrible service didn’t serve half the table i.e. it took 2 hours before I got the food I ordered. I wouldn’t trust them with allergies. Server ignored my requests multiple times. I was really disappointed since Uchi is the complete opposite of this place. Don’t recommend coming here. Was hungry when I came here, hungry when I left and spent $500 between 2.

2nd time Austin visitor and couldn’t miss dining here! My daughter and I sat at the bar and it was a fun experience! Very one on one service! Atmosphere is versatile: not quiet, but not loud; can be cozy and entertaining at the same time! So smartly designed.
Try the unfiltered Sake! The food was exceptional. Nothing looks the same. Chefs here come up with amazing combinations of fish, textures, colors, and flavors that blend perfectly.
Loved the Charred Edamames! An odd one but great was the mushroom one! Oh…. Must try the banana desert…. Muahhh!
Not cheap! But you can taste and feel the quality and the dedication on each serving!
I declare UCHIKO my one place to go when I visit Austin!

Went to Uchiko for their happy hour omakase and it was so delicious! The price and the quality make it well worth! The service was amazing and the ambiance is super nice!
There is complimentary valet which was a lifesaver since this area has very little parking and there are signs in the neighborhood saying not to park there.
It’s super popular here so I’d recommend making a reservation before hand! They were able to accommodate some walk-ins while we were there but the place was packed!

Brandy and staff were amazing! Uchiko has complementary valet. The front and back of house were obviously well-cared for. You can tell that the entire team actually cares about their job and to do their job well and to make their home restaurant look really good. My partner is vegetarian and I am non-vegetarian. The experience was able to offer lovely options for the both of us. My partner is a little more challenging to please, in terms of taste of food, however, he was able to find something he really liked. The staff asked us if we were celebrating anything, and I shared that I had just passed my doctorate candidacy examination. I was not planning to get any raw fish out of respect for my partner, and I ordered cooked food out of reference. So, after the staff resolved this super small issue of that someone from back of house told the staff serving a rolled vegetarian dish that there was beef in it, they clarified it was vegetarian and they made sure we got what we need. Also— I’m pretty sure out of good faith and just keeping good relations with the community, and knowing that we had something to celebrate at our visit and experience, they served me sushi on the house. That was so sweet! My sushi flavors were exactly what I wanted. Anyway, after we closed out our main meal, we ordered what I did visit there for which is the milk and cereals dessert. My partner had the banana cake. Both were excellent. Before I forget, we also had lychee martini for me and a Sapporo for him. Both excellent too. I have no notes for these guys! Please take care of them, Austin. They are like The Bear (Hulu) that succeeded and I hope they’ll be part of the community forever. ❤️ Therefore, I will definitely be coming back and potentially hosting my family and friends for future celebrations. Cheers.
