The atmosphere was very pleasant and quiet. Server was very attentive. I got the redfish with the fried oysters. The redfish had a crispy skin and it was a nice portion. Very well seasoned it was very good. Came with a side of collard greens. Tasty. My son got the Cajun crawfish platter. It was very good and spicy like he likes it. The truffle potatoes served with it were delicious! We got the fried calamari and octopus for an appetizer which we really enjoyed the white sauce was the best but the marinara was also really good . For dessert we shared the crème brûlée and it was perfection!

Incredibly disappointed. This was once my favorite Pappadeaux, now it is off the list of dining options permanently. On a quiet uncrowded evening the service was very slow. Our waiter rarely check to see if we needed anything, forgot condiments and we had ask for several times. The kitchen left sides and condiments off of the appetizers and entrees. The w etouffee we ordered "to go" came in a box dumped on top of dirty rice (instead of regular rice) it looked like vomit. Unfortunately I did not notice that until we got home, I should have checked it at the restaurant.

I visited Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen last weekend with my partner and a small group of friends, and overall I walked out pretty happy. We arrived around 6:30 PM on a Thursday, and while there was a bit of a wait (~20 minutes), the staff kept us informed and once seated things moved smoothly.
What I liked:
The ambience: The dining room has that low-lighting, comfortable Southern-seafood shack vibe, with a lively hum of conversation but not so loud you can’t chat.
The bread and butter: As soon as we sat down we were served warm bread with that scallion/leek butter—simple, but it really set a good tone for the meal.
The food: One of my friends ordered the blackened catfish and she said the seasoning was “spot on” — crispy crust, moist inside. I got the shrimp & grits and it was very generous portion-wise (which helps with price). The greens on the side were well done and balanced the heavier dish.
Service: Our server was attentive (checked in a few times, refilled waters, brought the check promptly when we asked). No major issues.

I’ve been coming to Pappadeaux for years, and one of my absolute favorites was the original fried alligator. It was perfectly seasoned, crispy, and had that signature Cajun flavor that made it unique. Unfortunately, they recently replaced it with hot honey gator bites, and it’s just not the same.
The new version is overly sweet, lacks the classic spice, and the texture isn’t nearly as good. It feels like they’re trying too hard to make it trendy instead of sticking with what customers actually loved. Please bring back the original fried alligator — it was a Pappadeaux staple and a big reason many of us came here! Everything else was good, it was just the gator I am sad about and the reason for my two stars.

We went to Pappadeaux tonight as a group of 5 people because two of our adult children asked to have crab specifically. The wait for everything was unacceptably long. But in the end when the entrees came out both of our children’s plates were supposed to be served with jumbo crab. I asked our server where their crab was. He stared at their plates and pointed out a small white chunk on one plate and said that was the jumbo crab. It was literally one single bite of crab. He couldn’t find any on the other plate so he put in for a side of crab to be brought out for our other child’s plate. After 30 minutes he said that the kitchen was running slow and instead of bringing out the crab they could give us a 25% discount on our ticket. We agreed at this point if they couldn’t produce the crab that it was too late and just give us the discount. When the check came out and I looked at it I noticed the only discount was $10.49 off of the plate that was missing the crab. It was a $35 plate. I asked the server what happened to 25% off of our ticket. He told me that is not what he said and that they only took the 25% off of her plate because it was the only one affected. So, all they did was take the cost of the crab itself off that she never received. Yet we spent $225 plus tip to come to a restaurant for two people to have crab and one got a bite of crab and one got none. It was a total waste of money. The service was so horrible and slow and the food was just mid. Next time we’ll spend our money some place else because this place is extremely expensive for no reason. And I don’t mind spending good money on good food and service. But this isn’t it!
