  The service at Saltgrass Steak House in Amarillo was wonderful—our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the level of service. My green beans were cold, and overall the meal was a bit subpar for what I expected. I appreciate the great service and hope the food quality improves.

  A bit disappointed in this place, it could have been much better. Service was friendly and well meaning but definitely missed the mark. Had to ask about drinks and courses a few times. Food was ok, the ribs were a little dry and the salads were pretty anemic. Serving sizes skewed small.

  Overall experience from the beginning to the end was not good. We were seated at a table not so clean with napkins on the floor from the previous customers, the table next to us was not cleaned almost until we were done. This place was not even busy, may be less than half full. We were not even served with the initial butter and bread. Kid’s mac and cheese was cold and tasted like microwave mac&cheese. This whole palace was not run very well and it felt like management issue with lots of employees running around but doing nothing.

  Steakhouses are surprisingly good places to eat plant based, provided they have a few sides made without cheese or butter. I was driving cross-country and stayed at a hotel around the corner from this steakhouse, so I ordered a few dairy-free sides. The steamed broccoli was cooked well, and I put them on a plain baked potato. I was excited they had Brussels sprouts, but they were SWIMMING in oil. I was able to eat the half sitting on top, but the ones on the bottom of the bowl were too saturated in oil to eat. Unfortunate.

  Visited on a busy Friday evening, 30 degrees outside and the air conditioning was on full blast inside. That should have been my clue to leave then. As a restaurant owner myself, I’ll never understand allowing the paying customers to be uncomfortable in order to allow the staff who are moving around and too hot to control the thermostat. We ordered & waited over an hour for our food, the steaks for our group were all undercooked from what was ordered, they were sent back to the kitchen, again we waited. By this time the special occasion we’d gone in to celebrate was clouded by disappointment, and we were so cold it was hard to enjoy anything even if the food had been more than just so-so. I totally understand being short staffed, but there are other ways to handle that than sending out sub par plates. *Our server Caleb was awesome, very embarrassed, apologetic & even offered us free dessert. Thanks for being the best part of our saltgrass experience!
