I’ve been eating here for probably around 15 years and I’ve never been disappointed by it. Ironically I married a vegan but I had already been coming here for 3 or 4 years before I even met her, now we’ve been married for almost 10 years and have 4 kids and all of them love Woodlands so much! I’ve gone through periods where I often ordered the same dish - vegetable pulov, chickpea curry, palak paneer, etc. All of it is great. The wife and kids will often split an appetizer sampler and they particularly love the fried cabbage balls (I forget what they’re called). All the naan is excellent and served with a few chutneys, but the peshwari naan is sublime, cooked with a thin layer of sweet pistachios and I think dates between the bread. We went here for the lunch buffet a few days ago for my oldest daughters birthday and the wife and I were obsessing over the Hakka noodles and the soy karampodi, which will probably be my next regular orders! I couldn’t recommend this place more - great food, competent and friendly service, and consistently delivering a great product year after year.

I wanted to warn people who think this is a South Indian Woodlands restaurant because from ages the name was a brand for South Indian food so don’t get fooled , this is not South Indian restaurant . The food , the service and the ambience are all horrible. The carpet is disgusting. If you are claustrophobic then please avoid it. I had nausea after tasting this food and I stopped consuming to avoid throwing up. Plates and cups were all dirty , rice was dry, Vada was stinking ( it was old) Stale food with toxic food colors ( especially on Red Manchurian) added that is carcinogenic. I saw so many caucasians eating there not knowing how sickening that food was. Staff was in a hurry to load food and get more customers than focusing on cleanliness and clean, authentic food. The buffet might be tempting but it’s not worth your health. Avoid this place if you can.

We just celebrated a friend’s birthday. The staff was so accommodating and ensured the order was quick and correct. They even surprised the birthday girl with a vegan dessert. Royston made sure that we all had a great time. The food was also delicious with large portions. Highly recommend!

I can’t concretely comment on a place being the best in Nashville, because I’m not a food critic BUT as a vegetarian/vegan myself, I’ll say this has to be it and I would be skeptical of any other opinion! Went to a buffet on Xmas eve and it was incredible. So many things I had never tried before. Menu was over half vegan. Plentiful options in general. Great service, very family friendly. 10/10. I’ve also ordered a chana masala off the menu before and that was stellar too. It’s a staple in Nashville.

I recently dined at woodlands Indian vegetarian restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. I requested my food to be on the milder side, and they absolutely nailed it—flavorful without overwhelming heat. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic taste. From the fragrant Sambhar to the perfect crispy dosa , each bite was a delight. The staff was attentive and accommodating, making sure my spice preferences were met without compromising on flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying, spice-balanced Indian meal!
