Real seafood should be sourced from real sea-places, like, you know, oceans. So that's exactly where we source our wild-caught Alaska pollock, wild-caught Alaska salmon, and wild-caught north Pacific cod. We’re no one trick sea pony.

I visited LJS for the first time this evening, and it was by far the worst experience I’ve had as a first-time customer. I placed an order at the drive-thru and noticed that the total seemed higher than I expected. When I reached the window, I asked the employee if there was a significantly higher upcharge for the large drinks. She informed me that the meals I ordered didn’t include a drink, so they are full price. I stated that the sign mentioned the meal included a 20 oz drink. Her response was quite rude as she said, “I guarantee you they don’t come with drinks.” I insisted that the sign indicated the meal came with a drink, two sides, and hushpuppies. She then replied even more rudely, “I guarantee you they don’t, but I’ll go outside and look at the sign.” She rolled her eyes and walked away. At this point, I was really upset and felt disrespected by her attitude.
As she went outside, I decided to loop back around to point out where the sign showed a drink included. I reread the sign and she pointed to where meal was listed, correcting me. I apologized for my misunderstanding, acknowledging my error. Oddly enough her demeanor changed and she was perky and said “that’s okay” - totally polar opposite of her demeanor just moments prior.
To put things into perspective from my standpoint, I was unfamiliar with the menu since it was my first visit, and I had just finished a 12+ hour workday - I was exhausted. I misread - my mistake. I am not upset about being wrong and corrected; I am upset about the way I was treated! After this experience, I ultimately decided to drive away, which I’ve never ever done before - I did so as I didn’t trust her handling my food after the fact.
The main takeaway from this experience is that the interaction could have had a totally different outcome had the employee kindly explained, “You ordered a meal/platter, which doesn’t come with a drink. The combos are what include a drink.” I would have let it at that because I clearly misunderstood. Unfortunately, being given an explanation wasn’t the case - no effort even attempted; instead, she chose to be rude, disrespectful, and argumentative. I do understand that she could’ve had just an off day. Life happens. But that still doesn’t give a person reason to be disrespectful towards customers.
I don’t wish for her to lose her job or face repercussions. I do, however, certainly hope she receives some coaching from management on how maintain a certain level of professionalism and how to treat customers with respect, regardless of who is correct.
Also, to note to the owners who respond, I’ve already shared feedback to LJS.
